So far we have fail. Can't get enough end play with the housing together. Think the end of the case was bent when I had to pound it apart. Needs maybe .060" of clearance to work. Going to try putting the motor on a press and pushing the shaft down and try and bow the end of the case out a little. If that does not work, I'll file a little off the end of the shaft. Currently when tight it is rubbing the end of the sheet metal housing. Works fine if I leave the case bolts loose.

I can probably find you a 65/66 blower motor from a local Mustang salvage yard if you need one.

Well not what I have done today but what I have been doing for a few weeks now. Got the roller rockers installled (thanks cmayna) and fixed (I hope) a small oil leak coming from the front of the engine. I thought the oil leak was coming from the harmonic dampener seal but I happily found out that it was 2 water pump bolts that screw into the front/timing chain cover. Slowly putting it all back together before I move on to the next job.

Finally spent a few hours in the garage today. I put Damplifier on the roof, and started with it under the dash. I managed to get most the cowl area done. I also installed the Mustang Steve clutch cable firewall brace and did the necessary under dash cowl clearancing for the cable quadrant.

Mine is fine now. It's a 3 wire 64.5 version. I killed two 65/66 BM's to fix mine. Well, one of the 65/66's was slam full of water and the guts were toast anyway but it had to get schucked to figure that out. When I knocked mine open, I bent the end bearing housing about .080" inward which removed all the end play on the motor. Short tweak with the hydraulic press and the bend was back to factory.

I woke up at 4 am an could not go back to sleep. So I clean and detailed my engine bay. Julie will be mad at me when she see I got dirt andf grease on my PJs.
Spent a couple hours rounding up bolts and parts. Found the wiper bolts and most of the firewall pad pins. Tomorrow will be another search day. Sad, I stare at bolts and stuff and remember where they came from when I removed them in 2003. Helps I have worked on so many 65/66 coupes over the years.
Tried on the 17s I borrowed.
Front: 17x8
Rear: 17x9
If I go 17s, looks like I would have to roll the fender (front). The tire touches. But on the good side... it clears the disc brakes and UCA!!
Is it just me or does it look like there's more space between the front and rear??
Yeah... I'm definitely saving my $ for some 17" Torque Thrusts.

To summarize this project:
The old shocks and struts were KYB's, and 1 of each was blown - no resistance. Installed a full set of the Koni Orange Strt.t struts and shocks. Replaced rear pads, rear rotors, and rear rubber hardware. Installed new front calipers, pads, hoses, cryo-treated slotted rotors :thu, bearings, seals, retainers & caps, plus new rubber hardware too. All 4 calipers received 4-coats of red caliper paint and match the car perfectly. I did get the system bled, but ran out of daylight to go out and bed them in... Still have the 4 new tires sitting here, but haven't figured out who I trust to mount them. :confu

Indirectly related to working on the car, but I got the framework pieces bought and put together today for blasting some parts, hopefully tomorrow.
I needed something to somewhat contain the blasting media when using my 100lb pressure pot blaster. I need to do some larger parts for the car that won't fit into my cabinet. I bought some 3/4" pvc tubing and fittings and made a 5' x 5' x 5' enclosure with one side open. I have some really thick mil plastic sheet and a tarp. The tarp is going on the ground under some plastic sheet for added durability. The walls are then going to be wrapped in sheet. I know I'll get some media flying out, but the enclosure should contain most of it. I'm trying it out tomorrow and we'll see!
Though it's getting a little late now, I'm considering whether I want to go assemble the front suspension pieces. I finally got my missing caliper in the other day, so I have everything to build a complete new front suspension. I just need to finish the spring perches (still!), clean the springs and sway bar to have everything restored or replaced. I don't work tomorrow so I can stay up late and fiddle with it. We'll see!! :confu

I installed a GZ Motorsports vacuum pump on my Mustang today. I found a fuel leak on the supply line so I will have to fix that tomorrow.

Not sure how they would fit but my take offs could be had pretty reasonably. Wheels and tires. IIRC 235/45/17 standard 08 GT silver bullets no curb rash need one center cap(missing blue oval) Tires have at least 50% tread left.
