What did you get done on your Stang today????

Very productive day. High of 70 here in Austin. I finally had a chance to install my MTF console and leveled out my suspension. Yesterday I Installed the new rear suspension and shocks.

I ended up rolling the fenders and cutting 1 inch off the front coils. It handles great!

Well, didn't work on my 66...but I still did some stuff on TWO mustangs today. My 03 and a friends 97. We put his fuel safe back in, and got his 97 running again after the fuel stopped leaking from one of the fuel injectors. Then we decided to try to fix my fog lights. Bought new bulbs, Nothing. Checked all the fuses. Nothing. :wtf Ok.. so we check and there's power out...so the light should be coming on. Hmm ok. Checked the switches inside. Power going to the fuses. We spent a couple hours trying to find out why the fog lights weren't coming on. Can't figure it out. :shrug He's gonna get ahold of his buddy and get a better diagram instead of one off google to see whats going on.

Something was atleast accomplised today. Nothing on either of my two mustangs, but a friend got his roadworthy again. :thu

Yes... we knew that. lol Fog lights didn't come on no matter what. Even pushing the light on the console on and off, experimenting with the headlights on low/high beam, parking lights on/off. Nothing would make them come on. The was power coming out from the harness and yet if you plugged the bulb up... no lights would come on. Its like it's not making a connection.

Did you check for a bad relay? The foglight switch probabaly powers a relay which in turn should feed the power to the lights...

Not a bad ground. Not bad relay. All that stuff was checked, which is why the guys working on my 03 are confused why they won't work.

Today I got the rollerized pedal assy. and painted steering column back in. Man that roller bushing set up really works smooth. I installed a new firewall seal and grommet for the steering column while I was at it. I will take it out for a drive Monday to see how the brakes work now that I don't have any movement in the brake pedal. I will install the retrosound radio hopefully next week before it gets cold Thursday.

After attending the rod run this morning, it really made me want my 66 on the road. So I went home and did stuff on Gertrude!

First... cleaned garage up. It was getting cluttered.
Removed headlight harness. Put driveshaft back in. Replaced u-joints. Hooked up shifter cable. Productive day!

After working on phone systems for 60 hours this week I decided to go down to the basement and trash out my GT500 track wheels. Of course there was the added benefit of breathing in lacquer for few hours. Buzzed painting is drunk painting.

Got two of them done today. Hit them with a pad to scuff them up and then used Krylon semi flat and then Krylon satin clear. Not sure how they will hold up when it comes time to get new tires. We will see. The satin clear may have not been a good idea.

You do phone work for a living? Who do you work for?
I'm an I/R tech for Windstream Communications.

I work for an engineering firm in Kansas City. I am replacing all of our Nortel cs1000s and bcms with Avaya Aura and IP sets. We have put out over 1600 sets since October.

Spent Friday afternoon at U-Wrench-It scoring some hardware - nuts, clips, light retainers etc. Cost me $2 vs. buying new from the parts catalog for $25...

Saturday, I used the new hardware to install the new 6pc headlight & parking light sets. Tracked down a bad wire for one hi-beam and installed new CrystalVision Ultra headlight bulbs.

Today, I pulled the rear brakes off, and opened the front calipers up. All 4 calipers got 4 coats of Duplicolor Red Caliper paint, plus new rubber hardware after the paint dried. The Red is almost an exact match for the car color. Got the new rear rotors and pads installed, and scratched the &^%$(@ out of the rear calipers while trying to adjust them. Finally got the rear brakes back together, and the caliper paint touched up.

Still have shocks & struts, plus front brakes left to do. Waiting on the rest of the front hardware (bearings, seals, etc) to arrive.

Got a few more engine pieces cleaned, restored and back on. They look purty, too bad it's still sittin' on the engine stand! Good news is it's almost completed and ready to go!

I finished up swapping out the flywheel and replacing the long style clutch with a diaphragm. What a difference...it's gonna take a bit to get use to how it feels. I also swapped out my 65mm throttle body for a 70mm, to try and get rid of some of my issues...I mean my car's issues. There's no hope for me!!!

It was. LOL We're actually starting to think there is something funky going on with the multi function switch. Maybe something in there isn't registering the high/low beams for the fog lights? :shrug My windshield wipers act funny during rain sometimes. They get stuck halfway on the windshield. Not a matter of it sticking because window isn't wet enough. It could be a slight drizzle to a down pour when it happens and the only way to unstick it is to turn the wipers on the highest/fastest setting.
