What did you get done on your Stang today????

In order to keep your stock accelerator pedal position using the 5.0 cable, I believe an extension is needed at the top of the pedal arm. I have a pic of it somewhere which I can try to find and post if you'd like.

That would be great. Wasn't sure if I could modify the cable or not.

Here ya go (these actually came from an article on the Cougar website for doing a 5.0 EFI swap). Hope they give ya some ideas. I can also email you a pdf copy of the article portion which outlines the mod. Just shoot me a PM with the info if you'd like it.

Pat, if you'd like a pedal out of a '89 gt to modify, I have one in my box of spare parts.

Tore the toploader down today and got everything cleaned up, ready to re-assemble. After checking all the parts over, I noticed that the input shaft is ever so slightly twisted. It will not allow the pressure plate to slide on far enough. I did re-assemble the main shaft and gears, but the rest will have to wait till another weekend :nut

Here's what a TL looks like when it's on the floor. They're really not that complicated.

Nice photo!!!!

About time you posted it in the correct spot.....

I worked hard to get those ghost stripes so be nice.

Getting ready to drop my engine 1/2". I made the frame plates for the engine mounts. All I need to do tonight is paint them and slap 'em in the car. I really need to get an oven, so I can start powdercoating these pieces....

Reinstalled the Unisteer R&P after getting it back from Unisteer. They fixed one of the issues, the other issue was internal so hope they got that one fixed. Getting closer to moving on to the next winter project.

FINALLY got around to getting my exhaust manifold bolts, so now they're all bolted up. I also got the a/c compressor all cleaned up and somewhat back in place. When I got the donor car the front p/s -a/c compressor bracket was gone (and several attaching bolts). I just need to get to the hardware store for a few replacements. The only part now lacking from have the motor completely done and ready to drop in is a 3G alternator...next on the list!

took a couple hours today & dug the t-5 out of the shed & gave it the first going over since the fire. it looks like it survived pretty well. had to knock the old throwout bearing loose from the bearing retainer with a hammer & punch (rust!) but the bearing retainer cleaned up fine with no pitting, just surface rust.also gave the fork an acid bath to get it clean. pulled the retainer & no heat damage to the inner seal. the tailshaft seal has a cooked spot so will be replaced. the outer case looks pretty crappy, so think i might paint the trans grey, just don't care much for the silver i see some of the rebuilt units get painted.

anybody running t-5's use the reverse light or neutral safety switches?? mine are cooked & not sure whether i need to replace or just cut the burned wires off & usethe switches as plugs....

On my TKO, I'm running the reverse lights, but I'm not using the neutral safety switch. The wires broke off flush with the switch. No reason to get a new one... the efi computer doesn't even require it to be there.

On my T5 - I used the neutral as a poor man's cut off switch, just looped together off a hidden switch. And as for the reverse light, yes I wired that in as well. I bought the reverse pigtail from Bruce at modern driveline... $20ish...?

Hmmm...details about this? How's it work? I could easily mount this to my tunnel mounted parking brake.

Started the battery relo to the trunk project. Need to run the positive cable next.

Ran the heater hoses, rigged up the throttle return spring, changed the position of the inlet on the fuel pump and worked on the brake lines a little.

Almost finished the toploader rebuild today. The 6 tooth drive gear I bought a few years ago is the wrong ID, so I have to get the correct gear. All that's left is to install the drive gear, rear housing and modify the shifter linkage with heim joints at the ends. Overall, it was pretty easy to rebuild. Much easier than I thought it would be, seeing as this was the first time I've ever torn into a transmission.

Finished relocating the battery to the trunk. My camera was dead so I will take picture tomorrow when it is charged. Was not a bad project, kind of fun. Just had to take apart alot of the interior to get it done.
