What did you get done on your Stang today????

Been spending a few hours here and there on my 65. I finally got the brake system buttoned up and bled out. Had 2 leaks to address with the stainless steel lines but she is all good now.

I then moved on to the hydraulic clutch. Been trying to figure out how to mount the master cylinder reservoir for the longest time before I figured out this little bracket... Made a cardboard template then cut and bent it out of steel, powder coated it and installed. I was worried about getting the hydraulic system bled out after reading some horror stories online but it actually went real easily. I went with the internal slave and all seems good.

Also worked on getting the radiator and condenser hooked up.

Next up is building seat mounts for my 07 Mustang seats and grafting them into the original seat pans......

I installed a reproduction set of inner fender splash shields. The front went in really easy the rears were a pain to get the bolt holes lined up.

I glued the carpet to the fold down seat panels.

I installed the door glass lower stop bumpers.

I had to partially remove the upper door weather strip on the passenger side and reinstall it. That upper rear corner does not want to stay in place! The driver side looks great.

The large lower rear interior quarter panels should be dry enough to install. I purchased a set of reproduction and they are really shiny so, they had to be painted.

The engine builder is supposed to come by tomorrow and fire up the car.

Chris,
Looks like you are progressing very well. I installed some repro interior rear panels in Shag and am extremely happy.

TapaYakin' from my iPhone

The painter made me do a test fit before he shot them. They looked like they fit really good, although I did not install the other panels.

I would have had these installed by now but Scott Drake sent my supplier 2 passenger sides so, we had to wait for the replacement before I could get them painted.

One step forward, two steps backwards! Due to the heat and me just being lazy I simply puttered with the car. The down side is I found another small rust area to fix on the edge of the roof...sigh. The upside is I finally got my roller bearing spring perches all done...welded, shock bolt depressions in and painted. All I have to do is bolt them up when the suspension goes back in. I GUESS I made some progress! :confu

Went to a local cruise night night. Damn it got cold out there in July!!!

Beautiful day today. High in the low 80's with a cool breeze (so nice after that long heat wave). Not a cloud in the sky.

Got the yard mowing out of the way, then it was out to the garage to adjust the clutch.
Of course, that requires a test drive :steer

This reviewer has to give it :thu That little extra bit of pre-load was what it needed.

Drove around with no particular place to go for about an hour, car was running great. Listened to some stuff I forgot I had put on the usb drive... Papa Was A Rollin' Stone, Ball Of Confusion... and yes, I admit it - when the theme from Shaft came on I felt just a little... well, badass :nut ha ha!

Going to replace the tie rods and lower control arms on the Diamond Blue coupe. Painted the tie rods this morning since it was a cool 86 outside. When I get home tonight, I will install them. It should only be 106 tonight.

I had a new exhaust installed yesterday. Kept the Summit Turbo mufflers and GT tips. Goodbye open headers.

As mentioned a few weeks ago. I charged the A/C, and it still works...

HOWEVER, when driving on the 100* days, the engine temp kept creeping up uncomfortably high. It did this both at idle and driving 70 mph on the highway, so the radiator was the prime suspect. Ordered a new HD Alum radiator last week, and it arrived.

In the mean time, the PS had starting leaking, which I tracked down to a 4 month old pressure hose - leaking at the fitting, between the fitting and the metal line. At least Oreilly Auto has a lifetime warranty on these, so I exchanged it. You have to pull the rack & pinion back out of the car to even get to it, so lots of fun there. New hose installed, we'll see how this one does.

Then came time to swap the radiator. System was tight, no leaks, no fluid usage. Started draining and unbolting stuff. When I pulled the radiator cap off, I got a 2nd drip of coolant started. :wtf Yeah, the weep hole on the water pump now had a steady stream coming out of it. Never seen one do THAT before. Called and got a new water pump on the way this afternoon. Now it's too hot in the garage to put it all back together... That will wait until tomorrow morning now. :hs

If it's not one thing, it's another. :shrug

65 didn't have air either, so it would've just been parked for the last 2 months! On it, changing a radiator probably would've led to a 4 month long resto/upgrade session anyway! There was a reason that car wore the MONYPIT license plate!

I DID want something to wrench on when I got this car. Guess I should be more careful about what I wish for! :roul

Started the process of switching from front drum to disc. on my 66. Can't find my new crossover lines.

Put new tie rod sleeves on My dark blue coupe and cut the coils spring 1/2 coil. Will install tonight or tomorrow.
