What did you get done on your Stang today????

I've read a lot on the subject this morning and have seen the picture of the broken strut rod, not sure if those are really poly in that picture, but just to be safe I'll get a set of rubber bushings. Maybe in the future I'll get a set of SoT strut rods.
Thanks for the replies.

Around 2000/01 I put poly bushing on the struts. Broke 3 before I went back to rubber.

John did you break 3 strut rods with the poly bushings?
Yes, I have not broke any since going back to rubber. This is one the Light blue 68 coupe. My dark blue 68 has TCP adjustable strut rods.

Today I was gonna sand one small spot on my hood hinge then paint it. 10 minutes later we had the hood and hinges off sanding the entire engine bay. Tomorrow we're gonna paint it with P2A40. Also ordered new front coil springs. www.cjponyparts.com is having there end of the year sale.

Finished painting and got new coil springs on. Didn't have to cut the springs. It settled to a better hight after a few burnouts. Now I need wheels and tires. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/

Finally tackled that front crankshaft seal that has been leaking for awhile, making quite a mess. :rant
While I was in there, I put on a new timing chain, harmonic balancer, water pump and cleaned and painted the area a little bit. Also, I finally installed the new rebuilt alternator I got from janschutz a couple of years ago (thanks again, John), a new dist. cap and plug wires, new hoses and fan belt, new temp sending unit, fixed the leaky carb (I hope!) and added a second spring to the throttle linkage. Started it up and everything seems to be working with no obvious leaks. I'll check a little closer after I drive it some.
The next thing on my list is to rent a pressure washer and clean some of the gunk from the underside of the car.

After the car sitting a year or so after we moved, I finally got my ass out to the shop to work on it. Spent a few hours last night stripping the front and pulling the engine. Got everything sorted out and got the car on stands.
Just flat lost interest in working on it for a while. And last year was a financial disaster, so I had no extra cash to fix it.

Glad to hear you spent some quality time on the car. Maybe taking such a step will entice you to take many more in the future.

got my engine painted... parts are still just mocked up, need a set of lifters and a new rear main before bolting everything down for now. no it's not ford blue :), it's burnt orange metallic, will match one of the body colors.

haha you know I can't get my old chevelle/Camaro/el camino out of my blood !

nah, not really chevy orange... burnt orange will tie into the accent color on the outside of the car once it's done. hell if it's good enuf for chip foose it's good enuf for me.

also spent a few hours in wiring/soldering hell yesterday and got my gauge cluster pre-wired ready to drop in the car when the time comes. this pic is just on my workbench hotwired to an old battery.

Looks great

here's a couple pics I took of my dash today after wrapping everything up. hopefully now it'll be plug and play when the time comes to put it back in the car. dash is from Scott Drake... I dunno if he is ripping off the JME dash or taking over production, either way it's a pretty nice piece of aluminum.

big brown truck delivered a couple boxes of fun today from Summit Racing and CJ Pony to (almost) finish my motor but I won't have time to touch anything until the weekend.

Progress has been near a standstill with the house using up all time and money... :cens Few pics from yesterday.

Body needs to be fully assembled so we can plot out the stripes. It'll be taken back apart and striped and then another couple coats of clear on everything.
