This was the first sign of the problem, although I didn't know that.
This is what I found.
These gasket where only a year old. I've read (on the internet) that many people have had problems.

@Larry - I wouldn't use the Print-o-seal gaskets...ever!
As you can see they are, in a word, worthless.
Geez, Larry, In looking at your first photo, with the gasket seal exposed, l would have known I was gonna have problems installed like that!
For the Boss, its important to ensure that all water passages are clear!
I have been, and continue to use FelPro MS90150, not sure which you will need for your application, for the Boss, that is the correct part number for the good gaskets...
As far as sealing, I only use 'Gasgacinch' and only on the head to gasket surface and leave the manifold side of the gaskets dry. In lieu of the cork or rubber end gaskets, I use Automotive RTV Blue silicone sealant instead and overlap onto manifold gasket slightly. Just a good 3/16 bead and let it cure several minute before installing the manifold. A lot of guys also like a light film of the same RTV sealant around the water ports. I have never needed to use the RTV on both sides of the gaskets And, of course, when installing the manifold I use two long guide pins made from bolts with the heads sawed off, in opposite sided bolt holes in the heads to ensure true seating of the manifold.
