What did you get done on your Stang today????

Finally got back to work on my car. The tail light panel and corners are out and new ones are clamped in place to see how they are going to fit. Welded some odds and ends back in. And removed the lead from the quarter/roof joint... getting closer and closer to fitting the new quarters. Still a lot left on the plate.

Ordered a gas tank so I can fit my trunk floors. Apparently I scrapped the old one already....d'oh.

Not Mustang, but I did have to replace the hatchback lock on the 04 Fucos. I really got Kev'd on that part. Easy to replace, but boy did it strip the ole wallet empty. Ford is very proud of those locks. No junk yards had one, nor the parts stores.
Apparently the concept of " what did you get done on your Stang today ?? " is a little much for some. :shrug

Since i was off today, Picked up the wife and took her to lunch..

I took out my steering column and pedal support assy. today. I had alot of movement in the pedal assy. when I pushed the clutch in, causing the brake pedal to pull away from the m/c. I couldn't get full lock up on the brakes. I was planning on putting in a roller set up but I tested the new oem bushing set up and everything seems tight. I noticed that the roller set up from scott drake just clips into place like the new oem set up and I am wondering if it is worth the trouble of ordering the roller set up. Both set ups will still have some movement in the support. What are your thoughts on this?

today I recieved a big box from NPD with lots of parts in it, next week will be work on the mustang week :yah

Pics?

I hauled home the front fenders, rear valance, and a spare door from Earl's today. Tomorrow is move day for the Rustang. I lifted the tarp and looked inside the car and remembered how close to done my car really is.

I went into the garage, sat down in the drivers side on the floor... made vroom noises. I'm easily entertained. Then I looked at the headlight wiring again. Turned around, walked back into the house as I mumbled curses to the previous owner.

I dislike my Mustang these days. If it's not one thing worng, it's another. :shrug Maybe I should just skip all this electrical junk right now, and start worrying about getting body work and a paint job done. Then go back and do the wiring, interior, etc.

If you just take out all the old, it can be cleaned and sorted out easily, then see what you need new.......or rip it all out and start fresh. Either way, it is really not as bad as you think it is. Better to get it out and fixed prior to painting.

If I could get someone to come by and help, I'd get the motor out today. It's just so damn boring removing the motor by myself (10-20 times).

I agree big time with Pete. Just remove it all before paint and body work. You can more easily go through each harness to see what needs to be done/replaced/etc, while the car is in paint jail.

If the wiring is that messed up, just get newly refurbished ones from Midlife.

All it takes is a first class isle seat ticket on the next h00ters airlines flight out of San Francisco to make your dream come true.

I won't fly 1st class cause it's way to much $$, so you'll have to come via cargo...that's all I can afford.

Backed the convertible out of the garage today so I could put away Christmas stuff. Decided to take a spin around the neighborhood. (no license plates or insurance and wearing a 1985 inspection sticker). Temp gauge pegged hot. WTF? Removed the radiator cap and no coolant flow again. This is the worst case of trapped air I've ever seen. Hopefully it's burped completely this time, idled for 20 minutes cap off and nose high. Flows fine...for now. Thought I had it last time. Cleaned up the anti sway bar to install and found blue assembly line paint marks under the crud. Tomorrow I'll see how many leaks the power steering system doesn't have.

Went for a drive, took some pics....
