Storm Damage from Russo & Steele Auction...

That sure sucks, I was watching B-J last night when that went down.

They had Kansas wind there :ep

A friend is there to sell his car. Talked to him this morning and they wouldn't give anyone access to the area. He has no idea how badly his car is damaged. He said he was going to spend the day at BJ until he can get the info on his car.

Wow, this is all news to me. That's what I get for permanently watching ESPN. What a bummer for the car owners.

It may be pre-mature, but I don't think my Hagerty rates will go up any noticeable amount. I assume that Russo&Steele and their facility would have insurance to cover these damages. While Hagerty may initially pay claims for damaged vehicles, these funds will I assume be re-imbursed by R&S's insurance carrier to include any expenses incurred by Hagerty.

There was a statement made in one of the responses about "your flagpole or tree falling on a neighbors house/kid/dog and being criminally negligent/legally responsible". Flagpole=yes. Tree=no. If one of my trees.... and I have a LOT of BIG ones.... falls on it's own.... i.e. I wasn't attempting to cut it down.... and it lands on/damages any of my neighbors property.... it's their problem, not mine. They claim any damages on their homeowners policy.

Thanks for the pictures. What a disaster. I saw my friends car in there. He's unsure of what's going to happen with it. He said he's going to load it into the trailer and head home tomorrow.

WOW!!! i thought the pictures would never end, sooo many cars were damaged this is huge!!! I feel so bad for the people who's cars got damaged, what a nightmare.

I feel bad, I even felt bad about the E-Stang that was damage.

What was even scarier was seeing what was under some of that paint. I saw allot of bondo and rust.

I could not watch the whole thing. Yes I know that they are only cars and can be repaired, but never the less I found it to be a little upsetting. What can I say? I am a car dude and it hurts to see those beautiful cars damaged. fd

Some of those pictures show that even the higher dollars cars have more bondo or are not "perfect" as so many expect. I watched them all and it is bad for sure. I guess that is one difference between the two auctions. BJ seems to have been more secure and solid unless they are hiding any damage reports. BJ was saying that most of their cars had never seen rain.......that could bring surprises for the new owners if they were not cleaned and dried good.
