Frustration!

Now to add to the frustration. I got the seals for the oil pressure relief valves because I didn't want to use the old ones, plus I wanted to use copper instead of steel seals. There are two oil pressure valves in a VW 1600. They consist of three parts - a spring, a piston, and a hex plug with the seal. I am missing one of the pistons now. I kept the parts apart from each other as they go into different areas of the case - one in the front and one in the rear. The one in the front is missing the piston. I checked everywhere where it could have possibly rolled and nothing. I think it is hanging around with the missing dowel pin that I have already purchased a replacement for. Aaaarrggghhh.

That's so true . In 86 i purchased my son & myself a 250 R Honda 4 wheelereach . About 2 years in i think my son still had the bag that the tool kit came in left . What ever he did he would just leave his tools laying . After he totaled his i wound up tradeing him the one i had for a 69 Mustang he had , the tools were still with mine. When i talked to the State Trooper at the accident scene where him & the car nearley missed each other when he jumped the thing onto a highway, the trooper said i was the only person he ever seen that had insurance on a 4 wheeler . I told the Honda place where it was taken to that i wanted it totaled, thats where he got money to buy a Mustang .
It was a good trade i gave him my Corella that he was driveing to death anyway along with the 4 Wheeler .
In hind sight i wish i would have kept the 69 but i had my 66 that i liked better .
