As we move thru the detail section, progress is slow. One thing stood out. Chased an electrical gremlin, the root cause of which kind of pissed me off. Bought new front parking light assemblies. Cut the ends off and put the American Autowire connectors on them. Brown is Parking. On the harness and on the lamp. Blue is turn signal. On the harness and on the lamp. And black is - of course - Ground. Nope. They are wired wrong. Took a while to chase down. Just FYI. In the new marker lights from CJ Classics are made wrong. Brown is Ground and Black is Parking.
PS. Had to ditch the oval air cleaner - but now the hood closes! :)

Did some of the final wrap ups of the new harness. Zero'ed out the new AC and Calibrated the vent positions. Finally fully installed the new dash-pad with the 'EyeBrow" guages.

so I put the glass in today. I used the last of my Kent Automotive Glass Mastic. I went online to order more - ITEM DISCONTINIUED!! ****! I am beyond bummed. I googled and found folks used the 3M equivalent - that now appears to be non-obtanium. Has anyone who does their own glass found a suitable substitute? I need to re-do the glass on my 65 and this is critical. Leak test for the 67 is today....Ill report back. :)

Abob - thank you !!!!!
I was searching and searching. this never came up. it looks exactly right. i ordered a bunch!!!!! I was getting worried that our rubber gasket windows were such a thing of the past that we would never see the proper materials. ..

Hello all,
Progress has been slow but steady. Got the wiring finished up (again). Got the dash finished up. got the heater finished up. waiting on two fittings and a some hose to finish up the AC. (The air Conditioning compressor being on the 'wrong' side requires additional hose and some fittings not included by default in the vintage auto air kit. .

I am using the Dakota Digital ECD-200BT to translate my digital signals from the TKX to the analog speedometer.
It works great and its Bluetooth. I mounted it where the factory speaker used to sit and it was easy as anything to calibrate while driving with the phone app.

I had purchased the Autometer Phantom electronic speedometer- but the design of the digital unit was not compatible with my now 22 year old but new in a box JME Enterprises Retrofitted gauge cluster. .....

I bought the MTF fastback interior and headliner (with MAP lights). Waiting to complete the shakedown runs before I finish the inside.....

it will debut sat 11/2 at my friend Jerry Nestlehut's 84 BD Party - which is also a local car show..... ( 4 years late!)

NOV 5, 2024:

I am struggling with the MTF one piece headliner. It almost seems like it does not fit. I had to give up for the moment rather than get frustrated and accidentally destroy it. I am also reconsidering my choice of the one piece MTF inside floor to ceiling side pieces with speakers where the vents go. they give you a piece of metal to put behind the vents - but the water comes in and is not handled properly - unlike with the factory waterproof boxes and specialized drains. very disappointing all around. especially for the amount of money i spent on that crap.

one little oopsie. I made the power steering hoses out of fuel line and the fuel line an6 connectors. seemed ok to me at the time as i had lots of extra bits and was able to cobble it together. after blowing the same hose twice in different spots, a little research showed that PS = 1200PSI, fuel line is rated to 250PSI. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did. I ordered some EARLS fuel line and the requisite an6 connectors.

Also the PS pump on the 427 is a GM type 2. I found a place that makes a fitting with a little knob that allows for adjustable PS pressure. which is great - because I prefer heavier steering and was already considering upgrading to electric.... :)

so UGH and YAAY!

pics as the solution presents itself.

NOV 3, 2025:
Got the rest of the interior in, save the glove box. have to order a new hinge. did a 300 mile shakedown. the car is now 'on the road'. There are a bunch of little things left to do. Going to change the seats. Going to add 4 degrees caster and a little toe to help it feel nicer. went to charge the a/c and the new compressor is junk, so i have to get another one....

i also am going to re-do the exhaust. i have some ideas how to work tailpipes around the evm rear.

Some thoughts:
overall - not really happy with the MTF package area parts. they look nice in the pics, but the fit and finish is poor, I had to trim pieces to get it all to fit and I had to drill my own 1.75" holes to have the factory rear courtesy lights.

The noise from the evm rear was the bushing in the front spherical rod ends. they were not press in fit and made a hell of a racket when the rear was unloaded. Weirdly, I was able to press in Chevrolet stepped pilot bushings and they were a perfect fit for both the spherical rod end in the control arm and the evm housing. No more noise! :)

Talk about a generational spanning Odessey ;)

3 states, thousands of miles, hundreds of cardboard boxes, christ even made me log back in. ;) Happy to see it on the road again.

It's all ittle details now. A year ago I ordered that console saddle from Kentucky Mustang. A couple of weeks ago I finally opened the box. Last week, I also ordered the SCAT ProCar 80-1000 L/R seats from Summit.

I am surprised to find that I actually like both the saddle console and the seats.

The saddle console lifts off, yet does not rattle or move around when in place.

The seats are surprisingly comfortable and the bolster support is very much needed given the overall setup's handling prowess and the car's newfound ability to throw you around in the cockpit. :)

Well,
I think she is approaching something close to "done". I still have to swap the front spindles and re-make the exhaust. I caved and took her to the painter who took out the backlite and re-installed it and got the trim to go in. He also did fine adjustments on the left and right windows because he is a perfectionist and I am a klutz. :)

And - in news that only someone from Atlanta or points south would appreciate in Feb - the AC works great!!!!
