Brand NEW! Full Floating 9" System

What are the 2 (potentially serious) flaws with the stock type rear end?

1. If you break an axle you can loose a wheel.
2. When cornering hard, the square bearings allow the axle to move side to side. When using rear discs with a fixed caliper this pushes the pads away from the rotor. You end up having to pump the pedal to push the pads back to the rotor before they perform as normal.

Well, stick a fork in those issues because they are now FIXED! What we've created is the first direct bolt in Full Floating 9" System for your Mustang of classic Ford.

Picture a giant front spindle snout, thats what we have on the rear. Onto the fully CNC machined snout rides a hub with giant tapered roller bearings. This eliminates piston knock back when cornering hard.

The hub is secured just like a front hub with a spindle nut.

Our drive plate then bolts to the hub. You can clearly see the splines the outer end of the axle meshes with. Here is the second major benefit of this system over stock, the axle just drives the wheels, the weight of the car is carried by the hub. If you break an axle you no longer loose a wheel. In fact, to change an axle you don't even need to take off the wheel. Simply remove the wheel dust cap, the dust cap on the drive plate, pull out the straight axle and install the new one!

Here you can see the rotor attached to the rotor adapter which is bolted to the hub. You can also see the dust cap on the end of the drive plate.

Here you can see the backside of the pumpkin with fill, level and drain bungs

-6AN vent bung with almost robotic quality welds.

The system comes complete with spring perches and brake brackets welded to the housing, forged 4140 heated treated hubs, giant Timken tapered roller bearings, seals, rotor adapters, 11.75" rotors (fits 15" or larger wheels), 4 piston aluminum calipers powdercoated red or black, pads, drive plates, dust caps, fully polished heat treated 31 spline axles. The housing will even come powder coated. Price will be $2499. Not bad for a brand new 9" rear end housing with rear disc brakes and axles!

The housing will accept any 9" center section but we will also be offereing a fully built True Trac inside a Strange Engineering case with any gear of your choice.

I just ruined a keyboard from all the drool pouring out of my mouth! That is a sweet setup.

Thanks guys! Mark, you had better put a towel over your replacement keyboard before looking at this post. Just got the pieces back from my painter for the show this weekend. Pure car porn:

OMFG, that is pure automotive PORN!

Do you need someone to test one out next spring? I'll have to sell a BIG job to pay for that without getting a divorce.

If you get a divorce you won't have a chance of ever getting one.

Here is a nice shot taken at the show in Columbus, OH last weekend:

Nice! One question? Wheres the hot booth babe?

Not sure where my wife was when this was taken. She comes with me each year to this show, works the booth with me Saturday then goes shopping Sunday. Kind of scarey really as if I have a good day Saturday she always buys more stuff Sunday!

Hey Shaun, I may have missed it or you may not have posted it yet but I am curious as to the price. Are you to the point you are ready to share it?

The system comes complete with spring perches and brake brackets welded to the housing, forged 4140 heated treated hubs, ARP wheel studs, giant Timken tapered roller bearings, seals, rotor adapters, 11.75" rotors (fits 15" or larger wheels), 4 piston aluminum calipers powdercoated red or black, pads, drive plates, dust caps, fully polished heat treated 31 spline axles. The housing will even come powder coated. Price will be $2499. Not bad for a brand new 9" rear end housing with rear disc brakes and axles! Just add your 9" center section or buy a fully built brand new Strange case with Detroit True Trac and your choice of gears from us.

The system is now available for sale - http://www.streetortrack.com/Street-or- ... tml. Had to bump the price up a little as I decided to include inner axle tube seals, these stop the gear lube migrating down the tubes and washing out the wheel bearing grease. I'm also including 2 trick little tools that make installation alot easier.

I've also teamed up with Strange to build my 9" center sections. They have some really cool, very strong stuff that will go nicely with our bullet proof housing. They'll build us anything we or our customer wants:

Checkout our Facebook page for some install pictures - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Street-or ... 2276150752

Along with the custom length driveshafts, u-bolts, rear shocks and brake hoses we pretty much have anything and everything you may need for a really stout rear end!

I put together a video detailing the installation of one of the hub and rotor assemblies - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFHcRHhZnsU

Let me know what you think. :thu

I know nobody wants to see my mug but I'm starting to video more of this type of stuff so folks can watch rather than read about some of the stuff we are building.

I'm now building these with Kelsey Hayes calipers. This makes it vintage legal for 69-70 Trans-AM cars. Fits under 15" wheels.
