bought a new project today..

i finally found a suitable platform for my next project (no, still havent finished the other two..)

1965 triumph TR-4A. car will be getting the 100hp 2.1 4cyl 4 spd replaced with a 5.0/t-5. funny thing is, after some research, the 5.0 with aluminum heads weighs LESS than the stock 4 banger!! should be a fun project & a blast to drive, kinda like a homemade sunbeam tiger...

Are you going to paint it speeding ticket red. :pep When I was in the USAF tech school I had a buddy that was also from SoCal. He also had one with a SBF V8 under the hood. Said he used to blow everyone away. The only problem with it was the V8 was too much for the stock rear end.

actually, i'm thinking of painting it a dark metallic green (mid 90's cadillac color) that i use on a 66 chev p/u a couple years ago.

j/k... I had a TR6 and a TR250 in the past. Fun car to drive, It was like having a "go cart" on the street. The TR250 was a 6 cylinder TR4 that was created in 1968 (one year deal) to recoup lost sales to the Mustangs and Camaros that had taken a lot of the market
 
Cool little car.

Years ago someone gave me a little car like that because it had been sitting in her barn for years and she wanted it gone. I had planned to fix it up but I was in my senior year of high school and didn't have the time / money to deal with it or store it so I gave it to a friend of mine. He said he was going to fix it up for his daughter to drive but I don't think he ever did because shortly after I gave it to him he got busted messing around on the wife and was too busy with a divorce to mess with the car.

yeah, i'll have to use the little tube on the nozzle! :lol :lol

probably cut down a 9" or possibly an 8.8. just depends on what i run across. i'll have to get the car here first & take some measurements & go from there.

probably will stay away from IRS as from what i've heard, narrowing those gets really tricky & can lead to lots of headaches if not done correctly. gotta remember, this car is barely 4 1/2' wide, the half shafts would probably be the length of a shock absorber...

I have acquired an 8.8 traction lock with 3.55 gears and only 200 miles on it. The guy I got it from (works for Ford) says he had a buddy get him all the best stuff for it right from the factory (But you know how those stories go). Anyway, It's for a Fox Body and it's still 4 lug but if you want to do some trading!?! I know you got lots of neet junk (I mean stuff) I wouldn't mind having myself! It was part of my motor deal and I don't need it. Also if the 9" housing Jason has offered will work in the drag car, I will have a 67 8" 5 lug available. I won't be offended if you don't want either, just offering.

might be interested in those. with the 8.8 being 4 lug, should be easy to redrill the proper 4 lug pattern in the axles when they are shortened.

HMMmmmm, I seem to remember discussing just such a project in said persons shop just ~3 weeks ago, sound familiar?? Looks like the bug bit Steve, hope I planted it so you have someone to blame the idea on to the misses...

When do you expect pickup/delivery and let me know if you need any help, like to see it when you get it. I like all the wood dash, etc. Does it have push button start on the dash? I learned to drive stick on my uncles '59? AH Bugeye Sprite, remember the push button well.
