Last winter I finished putting together/repairing a VMF'ers 64.5. Lot's of minor stuff and a new drivers side floor pan. I think I billed him about 75-80 labor hours and he was happy that his car was no longer a garage ornament. It worked out good for me as it allowed me to work on a mustang and not spend any of my money! Instead I actually made a little side cash.
Today I had to take my glorified golf cart/Jeep Wrangler into town to get inspected/registered. At a friend of mines shop getting it inspected I asked him how his wife's 64.5 was coming along. It's been sitting in one of the back bays of the building for years. He finally realized/admitted to himself that he would never find the time to rebuild the car and asked me if I was interested in taking on the job.
The car is mostly complete as I believe she was driving it at one time...... maybe back in H.S. ...... 30 years ago...... it's been at least 10 years since the car has moved under it's own power. The drivetrain is removed. The interior is intact. The body looks solid. It should be a fun project.
Now I just need to clear some crap out of my garage/shop to get started on it. That could take some time. A couple months maybe. I need to get my son's car out of there and possibly into a storage locker before I do anything.
