Dort wurde Fubar von Soldaten der US Army als Akronym für "F*cked Up Beyond All Recognition" (engl.) verwendet. Das bedeutet zu Deutsch etwa soviel wie "Verstümmelt bis zur Unkenntlichkeit" und trifft daher besonders auf Kriegsverletzungen zu.
