Recommendations on how to drill here?

Hello y'all!!

As you may or may not know, I recently put in my new 363. Unfortunatly all the mocking up I did, I forgot to include the e brake bracket.

At this time I have zero desire to remove the header. Any ideas how to start a hole for the self tapping screws that Ford used? I moving it over about 1/2" or so.
I am trying to use a small drill bit but since I cant hit it perpendicularly, it wants to walk.

Open to ideas :)

Harbor Freight is my favorite store! Yes its all Chinese but, the quality has improved leaps and bounds over the years. I bought a 20 Gallon compressor their 20 years ago that was crap. Now all the tools I have bought have been great. My engine stand, engine hoist, jack stands, air tools, blast cabinet, tool boxes, creepers and lots of other stuff was all purchased there at reasonable prices with good enough quality for my needs. Since eveything at all the major hardware stores is also Chinese I dont see any point in paying more for the same quality stuff. Its dangerous to go in there because I inevitably walk out with things I did not go there for in addtion to whatever I needed.

Harbor Freight is great for a lot of things, but not always. Yes, I agree their quality has improved leaps and bounds but with their "tiered" level of tool brands now some of their top brands rival other known brands in price so you have to compare more carefully. The lifetime warranty on hand tools helps, but HF is not always the cheapest anymore.

Case in point. I needed a new welding helmet a few months back to help @Bad66GT with his project. The top tiered ones were on sale at HF but they were normally $150 so the 40% off took them down to $90 pretax. I would have bought a cheaper model but the big rub will all of HF's welding helmets except the expensive models is they do not have replaceable batteries which means at some point they are a throw away.

Amazon is flush with welding helmets. I found a model that is true color even when it darkens with more features than any of the HF models that came with extra clear mask replacements panels, extra battery and a LED rechargeable light that can be directed right where you are looking, this is a great addition. It also had more features than any of the HF helmets including a better headgear design that cups your lower skull to make it much more secure.

I have not compared it to my buddy's top of the line HF model so it may be a little more flimsy but it is by no means bad. I really like the helmet and at $60ish it was a steal and you can buy two for less than the top of the line HF on sale.

This is why you still have to shop around and compare when considering HF on some things. I agree that on a Saturday afternoon if you need a tool NOW it is the best go to place for a good deal on something that will get the job done for a decent price. Even their cheapy tools will likely get the job done and if it is something you use only a couple of times in a lifetime it is the tool to buy. When I am at my brother's in CA working on his 68 F100 project we hit up HF multiple times a week just to grab tools we didn't know we needed until we did and in a crunch since I am only there a week at a time there is no time to order something and wait. Under these conditions HF is a lifesaver.

This is the one I bought and it is on sale right now, but there are others on Amazon from the same company that have varying features. I suggest you use this link but then do a comparison and shop a bit as you might find something better to suit your needs.

I bought this helmet because it had the features I needed for a decent price and I was able to get it the next day when I needed it but if I had the time to wait or shop I may have found something better.
