1967 Build called Electra

So today has been a nice adventure! I got up this morning and went to work.. Decided I would use the sawzall to cut away the rear floor so I could avoid cutting the fuel line...I FAILED! Cut the fuel line and had to cut about a 7 inch piece of it out and replace it with rubber line. After that I cut away a piece of floor panel I had left from my truck and bent it into shape to fix the cutout. It wasnt perfect and went in ok but it worked. I welded it in and then tested fitted the bottom of the rear seat to make sure I did a good enough job that it would still fit. SUCCESS!!!! The panel is also pretty flush against the old sheet metal underneath so I thought it went ok.. It was just a royal pain in my butt making my own bents and hammering her into place.

Ahhh ha!!! So in talking with Sellersrodshop today I became confused to why there was a horizontal support on the drivers side and not one on the passenger side. Just guessed the previous restorer hacked it out... Well after doing some research I found out in 1967 they started installing only a driver side Torque box and in 1968 they installed it on both sides! Once I found out it was a torque box it became very easy to find it online. So may have to add a passenger side one

either that or we could fab something up for that right side. I've got some plate steel that's about the same guage as that bottom torque box plate...

Yeah, im sure that could work. I was looking at a few different ones and they usually use 14 gauge and now that i think of it..I cant event weld that in..My 90 watt welder is i think 18 max...lol May have to hit you up sometime.

Yeah, so the PO of this car sucks! Nothing apparently was done right. I kinda knew it was coming but I removed the aluminum sheets that were riveted and glued down in the rear...and yeah...I have a lot more cutting and welding to do

I was being bugged by some showing metal on the trunk so i sanded it down and hit it with self etching primer. I also did some light sanding and priming on the rest of the trunk. It wasnt a good day to do it as it wasnt sticking or going on real good but its a good light coat

lol yeah I got 8ft legs because im 6ft and i didnt want to have to deal with hitting my head with std 5 ft....Plus I have some removable sides coming for it too...So its got nice room except the width....Damn driveway lot line

Well its been a while since i managed to touch the mustang other then to just start her up but i managed to pop out the rear window and work on the rusted bit. All and all it wasn't too bad...I just put most of it down to bare metal and then coated it with encapsulator. 2 of the trim studs are busted in and are holes and then the drivers side corner and a glob of Bondo i popped back out and found another hole.

Im still shocked but I got a Craigslist Score and a half!!!!! I worked out a deal over text for just the bullitt wheels for $175 and when I showed up at the guys house (A friend of the guy who posted on CL) he still had tires on them. I was shocked and I said $175 right? I told him thats what his buddy has said and he said well I wanted more but Ill go ahead and let you have them still....I drove my little scion 50 mins to get these because I thought it was just rims....Wow was the ride home cramped but 2 17x8 Bullitts with 225/55R17s and 2 17x8 Bullitts with 235/60R17s.

Well everything I read was correct. The 17x8s wont fit the front with out a spacer....Tires still could be too tall but it was worth checking....Rear fit on pretty well but could be too tall still

installed the 1" spacers on the front but lost a lug in the process so couldn't install the rear. Definitely need smaller tires...prob get some 225/45 probably on the front and maybe 245/45 on the rear... also was kinda shocked that my drums werent rusty....Only problem i almost had was the studs stuck out a little on the spacer but lucky the wheels have gaps for them
