Nice! Heck of a deal.

After the scary temps the 416 FE was running in Las Vegas. I decided on upgrading the 67's cooling system with a CR Racing aluminum cross-flow radiator from Precision Machines, which arrived today. I started off the day while waiting for the the man in brown to show by removing the old radiator and mounts and brackets then adding an automatic Trans cooler, as the CR cross-flow radiator is without. Finished the day dry fitting the new radiator and modifying brackets and the lower hose (from the water pump) for use with the supplied cross tube as both inlet and outlet are on the same side (passenger). Hope to finish up tomorrow.

I strongly recommend you install (if not already present) a trans temp gauge. Most "trans coolers" are meant to work in conjunction with the set-up in stock radiators. If you missed it you need to check out Tarafied's thread about his trans failure. You may have inadvertently put your trans health in serious jeopardy.

James67, are you saying that the inlet and outlet snouts on the rad are on the same side? Living under a rock, I thought cross flow rad's had the inlet snout on one side and outlet snout on the opposite side. Just got off of C&R's site. Lots of nice radiators.

The filler opening and tank are on the driver side running top to bottom rather than across the top like the stock style radiator. That maybe why the inlet and outlet are on the same side (passenger).

I found that out with the first cooler I purchased stated in the instructions that the cooler had to be used in conjunction with the one in the radiator. I returned that one and purchased another that was three times the size of the previous one which the people at Hayden said would do the job. I'm also running an extra capacity finned aluminum trans pan which should help.

Sounds like you have it covered. Didn't want to read about another Fixer cooking their trans.

I dropped my fastback off at the body shop to hopefully get the parking lot damage repaired.

Sent from my GT-I9505

Got everything moved back in the shop and pulled the motor....again.
Also attached a pic just for Mark.

Dropped off the block, head and crankshaft at the machine shop today. Getting the crankshaft polished (insert joke here), the head done (insert another joke here) and the cylinders honed.

Update: Got a call this morning that when they Magnafluxed the head, they found it was cracked. One step forward, two steps back.

On the dark blue 68, I lubed the speedometer cable, tightened the steering column to firewall bracket, reattached one of the AC vent hoses, removed a couple extra wires I had in the under dash harness and had a flat fixed.

I will be glad when all the roof are done being replaced in my development (damaged from a hail storm in April). This is the 3 flat in 5 weeks. from roofing nails.

I ordered a new set of head and intake gaskets.

I "think" i have a c clip that broke on a wrist pin causing a noise. Pretty sure it is not a bearing but need to pull the 347 and check it out.

The upside is my MSD Atomic fuel injection was running fine.

ughh :(
