Who has the best rate on shipping engines, east coast........

Ive got an engine on another site for sale, and it weighs around 300lbs, and will be sending it approx 900 miles.

Anyone know a reasonable way to do this? The buyer will pick up at terminal, and I will ship from a terminal..........

Also try United Parcel Service - check their large parcel - heavy freight division.... a few years ago they bought out Overnite Transportation (my cousin was the CEO and ran the division for a few years for UPS before retiring).... they are also very competitive and have the logistics and freight terminals to get your engine where it needs to go.... but of course I am a little biased!

I had seats shipped thru Conway....door to door. Not to bad for pricing, dead on the time, no damage, easy to deal with.

Do you have a friend that works in a factory that ships freight out on pallets? Might be worth checking into. The shipping departments can ship it from their dock.

Just a thought, where I work, we mostly use http://www.rlcarriers.com due to them having the best rates. We don't use it, but they can provide a liftgate service. We use them to ship all over the lower 48 as they generally have the best rates. Currently, we get quotes for UPS, USF Holland, ABF, R&L Carriers, Pitt-Ohio, Fed-Ex, and some times Con-way if we have a truck load. They all have websites and you can get a quote online. Some of the, such as ABF, have somewhat overwhelming quote systems, but most of the information is unnecessary to enter. These are all van services(enclosed trailers). Your rates/experience will vary depending on your location obviously.
