There are several things I want to do to the Mustang now that the new engine is in. However, I am having trouble prioritizing them.

The basic list of more expensive projects is:

- replace leaf springs
- add Petronix to stock dist and higher voltage coil
- install a few upgrades for tranny such as performance valve body (or a shift kit at least) and buy the kit to improve the servo.
- eventually would like to add some sub-frames.

Can't make up my mind however on what to put the priority on.

I wish I could just do it all at once but with time / financial constraints it'll have to be spread out over the next six months or more.

Here's my order of upgrade priority...

1) Electronic ignition & coil
2) Leaf springs
3) Subframe connectors
4) Tranny upgrades (unless you're currently having problems with the trans)

Get the engine and tranny running at peak, then work on suspension and frame.

4) Subframe connectors

Brakes are basically stock drums all the way around. I bought the car almost 2 years ago (it'll be two years in late March) and a serious brake job was one of the first things we did along with a service to the rear axle. Master cylinder is pretty much new.

A conversion to disc on the front is on my longer term list.

I was thinking ignition and coil first. Just thinking it's pretty cheap in a relative sense to do and won't take long at all.

My springs are pretty bad so I was thinking those next but to get everything completed on the motor / tranny first is certainly something I could make a good argument for.

I pretty much have the money to do the ignition (or will by the end of the week) and I usually get some money around Christmas and would then have enough to do the tranny work. That would allow me to start the new year with sub-frames and springs as my top two priorities. Also works because springs and sub-frames are two items that I want to research my options some more to figure out my best options (such as do I go with repop stock style springs or look into some of the other choices)

Probably mid to late next year I'll have to revisit the best route for converting my front brakes to disc. I will probably do something with the front springs (at a minimum) at the same time as the brakes but I need to learn more about my options on that one also. My buddy was telling me simply changing the front springs out on a customer car he built made a pretty large difference.

Of the items you listed, which is giving you the most headache? If none and you are just making a list of where to spend money I also would go with Mark's list.

My opinion : First get disk brakes ,then do suspension and next do engine upgrades.IN THAT ORDER.
I 'll say : safety first .That means whatever your car is , it has to have good brakes.Suspension is the next thing to do because your car has to handle very good whatever car you have. Engine mather , If you want to put a powerfull engine in it , you're then already have good brakes and suspension.
It takes time and money , but you have always a good base to start from when upgrading.
Even if you have to sell the car in the future ( i hope not of course ) the buyer will see the cars potential.
IMHO.
