I hated having the seat belt retractors on the inner rockers, wreaking havoc with the seat movement. Spent the night moving them to the b-pillar, much better. I got these seats moved waaaaaay back lol.

Got the motor back where it belongs today. All that's left to hook up is the cooling system. Adding studs to the engine at the motor mounts and guide pins for the bellhousing made it much easier to install by myself!

Well at last my doors are ready for paint! Kept finding small dents that had to be fixed. As best I can tell all are corrected and doors are primed now. On to the body now, I THINK all the body work is complete but just need to sand and prime. I am sure I will find a few dents here to repair also. Now looking for a good painter in the area.

F*cked around busting knuckles and smashing fingers re-installing the hedders on the '69. The driver's side... :rant...what a beotch! The passenger side took 1/5th the time!

Tried to replace the driver's side floor pans, failed. I apparently suck at using a cutoff wheel on an angle grinder.

I bought Procar Rallys first but they were too tight a fit for my generously proportioned ass lol. I LOVE these though, you couldn't get a wider bottomed seat in the car, just what I needed! Swapping them was easy as the adapters were the same. Shoot, I sold the Rally's on Fleabay and almost got all my money back to boot.

Welded on the new lower cowl and the original upper cowl.

Set up the suspension angles and locked them it in. Checked fit on the fenders. Now to make the shock towers.
The way the motor was sitting in the car was driving me crazy. It was about 1/2 higher on the driver side than the passenger. Found out a few things the original owner did that caused this problem(among the many I am finding out). He tried to install the new T-5 with modifying the original trans mount so the trans was solid against the tunnel. He also just replaced one of the motor mount pads when he installed the new motor. The old pad was about 3/16" thinner than the new mount. Installed two new mounts and ordered the correct trans mount.
I also had leaking valve cover gaskets so I replaced those and adjusted the valves while I was in there.
Installed new Tri-Y headers after that then went onto work on pressing the Hubs of my drum brakes to get ready for the new Cobra brake kit from Street or Track.

Drove my '66 today! :yah Unfortunately one my disc brakes (drivers side) is leaking again. It's like the hose wiggles a little loose from the caliper when making turns. :confu Stopped at friends shop and we got it tightened back up, drove it home and now we'll see if it leaks any in my driveway.
Did I mention the best part... I DROVE GERTRUDE!
