Whacking out my first set full set of stripes tonight

Layed the stripes out tonight. not sure I'm keeping the cobra jet on the front fender. I put it on just to see what it looked like. Feel free to comment. Picture blast.

I'm gonna piss on your whole parade.... I say ditch the Mach 1 and the Ford logo's, make the cobrajet logo bigger, then rework the twister logo to include Mach 1 and get rid of the sixty-nine.

People know its a Ford, and it is a twisted ass Mach 1.

you make good points Rick but what I think is cool is that the twister special is just rare enough that some don't know much about them and these decals kinda look "factory" and for sure "70's" IMHO

Agreed, i'd leave the twister, leave it worded as twisted, cut off the sixty nine and add mach (maybe even leave the 1 off)
 
Cool! I like it, I would make the cobra sticker bigger, I'm with the others to take off sixty-nine, It looks good either way though Great job! BTW Your shop floors are F'n clean and beautiful, whatever you used i want it.
 
Ford logo....not in stripe.

That end of the stripe seems to end abruptly......no flow to the car.

Maybe a small....real small Ford logo in place of the sixty nine.

Loose the Cobra, keep the 427 Cobra Jet words.
 
Talking about pissin on a parade, I personally think the whole "twisted 69" logo should be scrapped. To me it cheapens the car, big time. I do like the black side stripe though.

You're gonna have to work harder to piss on my parade. I agree with you to a degree. I am however trying to keep some of the twister vibe yet have people take the time to look and see what is amiss.

I may photoshop your suggestion to see what it looks like. I replaced the stripe on the 1/4 because it was a 16th low in the rear. Not really a big deal to make the changes you suggested.

While I was doing that it dawned on me that the rocker molding should go matte black. Actually I can wrap it in vinyl in case I change my mind down the road.

the end of the stripe should be curved with the rear wheelopening.

Ricks version. (kind of) Blacked out rocker and molding, removed cutouts in stripes, changed up the funnel.

BTW, these critiques would have come in handy BEFORE I cut the vinyl......

Should have photoshopped them first......plus you need practice on the weeding and cutting.......
 
OK, I like it. Good form and well balanced. There is another version that I can't post here (as least I don't think I can) so take a look in the "very grumpy old farts lounge."

So you could get a Mach with the Twister package? Are those the original stripes? Ford logo behind wheel, mach logo on door and twister on rear quarter? Whats the emblem on the front fender, Mustang script? Then it has the larger rocker moldings with MACH 1 on them as well. Having seen that one, yours seems a lot better. Not trying to be an ass (it comes natural I think), but this is from a guy that has a only a running horse on the grill and MUSTANG on the decklid......
