What a freaking tornado that went all around and destroyed houses on either side and killed many people. It ripped the roof off of part of my house, but we feel very fortunate that we even have anything left. Many trees down and I cannot believe these giant oak trees didn't hit the house. It's like they swirled around and laid down. We are so saddened that some of our friends were killed right next to us and our prayers are certainly with those and the hundreds of others that died here in Alabama and elsewhere. Please say a prayer for those that lost even more. I cannot believe that some damn looters were looting a friend that lost his house and excavating business about 500 yards from us. The sheriff's deputies were by very quickly and had the roads blocked, we had to show ID to get in and out of our road. They kept coming by at all hours of the night and day to ask if we were okay as they were trying to find so many that were killed and just gone to who knows where. They were pulling bodies out of a fish pond about 1/4 mile from where we are at. I have never felt anything shake as bad as this house when it hit. People were outside just screaming in terror and lost it right afterward. I feel like I am living in a war zone. I will post pics when I am done working on the roof, soon. Thanks so much, Gary.

PS, the mustang was safely tucked away in the barn and I can't believe the barn wasn't damaged. All those trees you see behind the sig pic are gone. The woods behind our house are just devastated. I will have firewood for many years...gotta smile about something. :yah

Glad to hear you are okay. those storms were very deadly. we will say a pray for everyone that lost family and friends.

Do you know if any tornado's hit Enterprise? Asking because a friend of mine from high school lives there (her husband is army, stationed there) and I haven't seen her post on Facebook since 6:51am Wednesday morning. Very uncommon for her. She usually post several times a day. Has another friend from school try to call her. Can't get a hold of her on the phone, hasn't answered messages on FB.

No, Enterprise Alabama... right outside of Fort Rucker.
I finally got word back from my friend. She and her hubby went to Panama City for Thunder Beach. So she and her husband and son are fine. I'm going to kick her butt next time I see her though. LOL

I live about half way from Eclectic to Kowaliga, Al. That is where beautiful Lake Martin is located. Several of the million dollar lake homes were destroyed along the route the twister took. Thanks to everyone for the well-wishes. I hope the insurance adjuster is going to get here this week or soon.

Wow, I'm glad you're more or less okay. It was just amazing to see the videos of it all. Tornados were one of the reasons I left Michigan. I'll take a dust devil any day!

I'm very glad to hear you and your family made it through without injury. Things can be replaced. We had a rare for this area tornado go through here last sept. We were very fortunate also, it went around our house and devastated a lot of our woods but some of our neighbors weren't so lucky. There were a lot of injuries but thankfully no deaths here close.

The first 8 pics are the dense woods right behind our house on my property.
Big Mess! The others are up and down the road with 2 different churches completely destroyed. One cemetery is damaged. Pics just cannot do this kind of damage justice.
