Well.. hellllloooo there!

whew!! well, let me first say THANK YOU.

The tools and budweiser sign are my brothers. The car is in his shop. I have 3 cars at home and no room for it. As for skills, ehh.. I'm willing to get my hands dirty, installing the motor, minor repairs.. yeah I can do that. Welding? Not so sure about that. In the end, I'd like to just have it for a daily driver. We have a 66 Corvette convertible that is showroom perfect and we can't drive it anywhere... thats not what I want. Time? I have all the time in the world. My brother is getting a lil ancy wanting to get it out of his garage... but I buy him a beer and wings and he's okay for another couple of months. Now budget. Car was purchased for 10K. I'll admit we overpaid, sight unseen, will never buy another car off of ebay... Have put another 7,500 (including motor) into it to get it to what it looks like now. Yes, I was screwed. For now, I am willing to throw another 10K into it but would obviously rather spend less. If it were more than what i've already been quoted, then I'll throw it in a scrap pile and start over. Sentimental value. TONS. This is where the sissy girl comes out of me. My uncle used to drive me around in his when I was a kid. He was killed in a car accident and I've had an emotional attachment to that particular year/model car ever since. To part with it would break my heart unless it were replaced with new cobra, a hot male driver and a trunk full of unmarked 100 dollar bills. Just sayin... lol.

I'd like to get together with Sluggo to see what my options are concerning shops in the area.

Joining this forum may have been the best idea Joes ever had for me!! ha.

Kathy,

I sent you a PM. Thursday might be a good day for me. I think you can hit my house with a paintball from yours. Should not be to hard to get an inspection arranged.

Welcome aboard! My 67 was a gift to my wife and well the story is about the same. I bought it for her as a replacement of her first car. It too was a 67. The first body shop Jacked it up bad and I had to drag it to a second one. I have had to have many things done and redone!

So, my advice to you is to relax a bit, you are in good hands here and with Sluggo close by, he can help you. He will not steer you wrong.

Secondly I think the 641/2 cars are worth saving and keeping as close to stock as possible. They are when it all started!

We will all help you as much as we can!

Mel

Welcome Kathy,
I think you have found the best place for sound advice. It will be nice to see this car come together. What drivetrain does the car have ? Options ? color combo ?
