Hi guys,
My name is Jeff, I am a caraholic.
I've been lurking around here for a while now.
I have a 73 convertible project (my cars are always projects, the never seem to get finished completely). I drive it more than work on it, and it shows. LOL
It has a 351c with 2v heads, pocket ported, stainless valves, hardened seats, bronze guides, screw in studs, guide plates and roller rockers. a very mild cam and stock bottom end with flat top pistons. The intake is a performer with a 650??cfm Holley built from pieces/parts using a 750 base plate and a 600 mainbody, still working out the bugs. For spark it uses a duraspark with a Motorsports/MSD box. Currently it is running the stock c-6 but I am gathering parts to install a 5-speed so I can have the proper number of pedals. When the mechanicals get finished the body and paint will follow.
The suspension fairly stock with 2" lowering blocks on the rear with an offset pin, moved rearward 1/2" to center the axle in the wheelwell, and cut coils on the front.
The car is a very low buck build and there seems to be an incredible amount of good information here.
I have been involved in the car hobby as long as I can remember. Currently I crew on a couple of sportsman drag cars, a 71 Mustang in E/S (class winner @ Indy :ecit), an 88 Thunderbird in SS GT/D (class winner @ Indy :ecit) and a 97 Mustang in E/SM in competition eliminator. Yes we not only race Fords but we race with manual transmissions, we must be gluttons for punishment. I am a machinist by trade (formerly, but not retired) and love fabricating parts.
Thats plenty for now,
Jeff
