Walrus Pancakes.

I thought it was amusing:) My gf thought it was tragic. "Awwww......why don't they build a fence there?" "Because fish and game would probably throw a fit over you screwing with the wildlife. It's called darwinism."
 
They did build a fence. The video was shot in 1996. I've found reports of a fence being built in 2006.

This only seems to happen in the one cape, and the walruses haven't been coming in enough droves to drive them up the hills. But in 2005 they showed back up, and so now they tried that fence.

Can't find any reports on whether it worked or not. Nature is pretty darn cruel...what's next...bringing tofu to lions so they won't eat the helpless antelopes?
 
Nature doing it's thing aside, I couldn't watch that for long. Too sad. Living so close to Wisconsin I couldn't help but think the same thing could happen there if, for example, the Packers were to have a meet and greet on the top of a big hill or something. Would it be so funny then? :hide
