Great weekend. A big turn out of cars and spectators. It got so full that they were making announcements that due to the high volume of foot traffic that once the car was parked not to move them. We looked around for Ryan's 69 but by noon we gave up and just started taking in the cars and the different events like the Pinstripers Jam. By 4:30 we were done and still hadn't covered everything.

We got a late start. Arrived at the fairgrounds at 12:30. I parked right beside the brown and white Glastron motorhome you see in the background at 6 mins and 22 secs. We stayed till 4:30. Got a little hot for my son but was a good time as always. I go every year and it keeps getting bigger! With over 7000 cars you can never see it all in one day.
 
About 4:30 was about the time we were headed out the gate. One last stop to get the diecast auto'd and we were done. Had we would have found you,we would have sprung for lunch. Spending the weekend worked out great as we(I) didn't have to drive home. The hotel was about 10 minutes. Their saying it might get even bigger next year. My legs are still sore from all the walking and I'm still sunburned. Can't wait to do it again........
 
Defnite sensory overload with that many cars.

I can't imagine how many great cars you would walk by because of it.

Liked the mid-engined Corvair.
Not fond of the painted underhoods or trunk lids.

And it looked HOT!

Our first time there was last year and the first thing my wife said was "How come we never did this show before?".
And yes you do walk past cars or see new ones where you had been a 1/2 hour before.My wife's cousin walked in about 10 minutes behind us,we didn't see him again until we were on our way out and he was standing by the t-shirt stand.
The Mid Engined Corvair was cool.
As for the painted underside of the hoods, My wife thinks thats cool so I'll snap a couple to keep her happy.

As for the heat, It was hot. One of our friends owns the Nova at 2:24 and told us anytime we felt overheated to come to where they were and hang out with them under their tent. We ducked under there a couple of times. Trane heating and air had a tent set up with a couple of portable air conditioners in it and that was another stop we made. I also learned not to wear a golf shirt with the neck unbuttoned. Sunburn is in a V shape pattern on my chest. Good time.My wife even asked if they announced the dates for next year like Carlise does. So you know we'll be going back next year.
 
Although they could be there, I was glad to see at the motel there were no trailers.

Its like those hard ass Harley riders going to Sturgis...with their bikes on a trailer. :bomb
 
That Hemi Road Runner was behind the hotel in a trailer.But for the most part the cars were driven. Even the RR. We sat on the lawn of the hotel on friday night and were entertained with an awesome cruise as there were about 6 or 7 hotels in the complex we stayed at. It's funny you bring up the "Hard Ass Harley Riders". There was a bunch of bikes parked in a small lot outside the fairgrounds.The hotel across from the hotel we stayed at as we were checking in a Chevy pickup with a trailer behind it was pulling in. I was walking back to my car when one of the guys went in to the office to check in.The other 4(It was a crew cab) got out and opened the trailer and started rolling out these new harleys. My wife recognized the guy as a lawyer who she knows from the courthouse and he doesn't live that far from us. Let's see,Took us about 2 & 1/2 hours to get there and these idiots have to trailer their bikes like 160 miles? What,isn't that what you brought them for? I just don't understand some of these supposed "Bikers". Buy it,Ride it. It's not like it's something that can be done around here year round. And you can get touch up paint for it.
