Uh oh.....emergency brake cable bracket missing -updated w/pics

DILLIGARA?
Donator
Well, Here's my first gotcha on Shag. When my painter replaced the passenger front floor pan, it looks like he forgot to transfer the bracket that I believe is welded to the bottom side which the emergency cable's Idler arm attaches to. Does anyone have a pic of this bracket. Does the 67 have a similar setup? If so, I'll be working on KBMWRS's next weekend and can take my own pic.

Guess I better drag my welder over from home.

Re: Uh oh.....Need a pic (emergency brake related)

I would imagine the location is the same on a '67 vs a '68.

I have my '67 on jack stands in the garage. I could easily get under it and take a picture (and measurements) if you would rather not wait until next weekend.

Re: Uh oh.....Need a pic (emergency brake related)

I already found a donor car today which I can extract said bracket from. No pics required at this point.

Re: Uh oh.....Need a pic (emergency brake related)

Well, after looking at this bracket, I can easily make my own but would like to know the width and length of this puppy. It looks more square than anything else. Guessing about 2" x 2" ? I'm not worried about the thickness or dimensions of the welding tabs. The most important thing I need to find out is the location of the center of the hole in relationship to the RH frame rail and the tranny tunnel support.

As we can see, this donor car has had it's floor replaced and this bracket re-welded (crapily I might add).

The bracket is 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" square. I'm not sure if the orientation of the bracket is correct in your picture. I'll take one of mine if you need it.

The bracket is 2 5/8" from the side of the frame rail to the center of the hole. It is 3" back from the side of the floor cross support to the center of the hole.

Craig,
I knew there was something I liked about you. Yes, I would like to see another bracket in place.

That pic is perfect. Yes the bracket in my pic is rotated wrong. What a doofus the welder was.
