My back has done this many times. I stopped doing really stupid stuff and it stopped putting me in bed for a week. I all too well remember crawling to the bathroom, unable to stand erect. Mine started when I was 13, trying to take a blade off an edger. I was pulling a wrench and pushing another trying to break the nut loose. Suddenly it felt like someone hooked my lower back up to a 110v outlet. I fell on the ground and laid there for atleast 20 minutes."sigtauenus" said:Yeah, I'm not so concerned about the car, I have a trip to White Sands this weekend for work and I need to be able to make it. I have an appointment tomorrow with a sports ortho type doctor and they have physical therapy in house. If they want to use that electric shock type therapy, give me drugs, or shoot me up with anything to fix it, I don't care as long as I make my flight Saturday afternoon.
I'm up and about, it just hurts to do anything.

You have to leave it alone and let the swelling go down.
