turq66 update

Hello, everyone. Thought I would drop by and give an update on some things I've done to the 66.
First, installed some late model seats front

and rear

. Found some trunk mat material that matches the back of the fold down rear seats to cover the divider.

Installed pony door panels.

Replaced the old broken Sony am/fm cassette player that was in the dash with an original 66 Mustang am radio. It's not wired up, but presumably works. I have a pioneer am/fm/cd player mounted in the glove box. Also replaced the ammeter with a NAPA voltmeter.

Also, I replaced the 17" Bullit wheels with a set of 15" Magnum wheels from CJ Pony.

I put the Bullits on the 2000 ,v6, 5 speed Mustang I bought to drive to work so I could take the 66 out of the daily driver rotation. The 66 mostly just sits in the garage, gathering cobwebs these days.

That is the standard 01 thru 04 rear coupe seat. I have used them a couple times.

Looks good.

Thanks for the compliments. I got the rear seat (and front) from a '99 Mustang. The bottom fit perfectly. The back was an inch or two short on each side. So, I made the backing piece to fit between the interior quarter panels and to cover the fold down seat frame.

I remember AzPete doing the same thing with the back seat and having to fab up filler pieces for the sides. I wonder if the seat cover can be partially removed and more padding installed on the ends. Would the cover stretch over the additional padding?

The problem there is the sides of the backs are not the same material. They are a grey cloth.

I'm usually guilty of looking down my nose on restomod stuff that's really obvious, but I have to say those seats look great. I guess it's all about the workmanship. Good job.

Glad to see another one done. I actually never got mine finished prior to selling the car. Midlife and I were in the process of designing some filler panels. I would like to see the area where the seat back meets the interior side panel to see how it was done.

Thanks again, everyone, for the compliments. Couple more pics....
