1964 Sunbeam Alpine roadster vintage racer. This barn find has been sitting since the late 80's and hasnt even been cleaned up since we found it. This would make a neat car to drift or autocross in or restore it and go vintage racing. It still has all its vin plates intact so it could also be turned into a street car that would be a one of a kind cruiser. Put a v8 in it and make an Alger out of it.
Not sure who did all the work on the car originally but looks very professional and like somebody spent a lot of money on it back in its day.The car had been raced in HSR and SVRA and has a Chicago Region log book number on the cage but the log book is long gone. I did contact them and they asked if I wanted a replacement sent but it never showed but dont see any reason why the buyer could do the same if wanted.
The cage in the car looks real nice and well done.It also has an aluminum dash in it with aftermarket gauges and a full on-board fire system, In the trunk the metal has been redone and it has an ATL fuel cell with an electric pump and plumbing.
The engine is missing but the transmission is still in place along with the shifter, driveshaft and exhaust. Also has an oil cooler and plumbing still in place. It originally was a 4cyl car hence the Alpine model and class designation on the door.
The hood , trunk and rear bumper as well as the rear flares are all fiberglass. The front flares were gone when we found the car.
The rear end is a locker and has a 6.22 gear according to the paint markings on the bottom. The front had disc brakes but the calipers are missing.
This would make a real neat project to redo.
