I just read recently plasma is still best picture--led sometimes have problems in well lighted rooms--angle view is best with plasma, 3d is just a fad, Panasonic plasma is top rated--I have a 50 inch panasonic plasma and have no complaints---they use more power but not enough to send any of us to the bread line. Plasma is cheaper now. Everyone wants led. I personally have a hard time telling the difference. I used to sell electronics, but I have been out the game so long I have no idea about all the new crap.

My LED Vizio is in a room with a west-facing wall of windows. Absolutely NO viewing issues. I do have a 42" Pany Plasma that was used in that room, and it was actually very hard to watch - washed out. Which is why many of the comparison/buying guides recommend plasma for darker rooms, not bright rooms - because of the black-level performance. My Plasma is now downstairs in a room with no windows, and works fine there.

I actually read that article awhile back. Trying to figure out what is our best option. I am off today and most likely will pick something up tonight or tomorrow.
I just moved out the old tv from the corner and I found a nice color difference in the hardwood floors. The rest of the room darkened from the sun, but its lighter under where the tv was. My god there are a lot of wires back there too. What a Mess.

Yes.. it is LCD with different lighting. My point is it is not just different lighting but better (for all the reasons I said) Also on the ouside light/glare issue I have a SGD on the left side of the room and a bay window on the other and NO washout of viewing issues what-so-ever."blue65coupe" said:

I have a 52" Sharp Aquos LCD and have no complaints. The sound is not the best, but when I flip the Kenwood dodeckaphonic system on, it's fine.

To add a little input from another Vizio "owner" (it actually is the wife's), the picture is really nice. My son bought it for my wife when he worked at Wally World. We've had one problem with it, one of the inputs went out. The input line we were using for the satellite gave up the ghost. That was "solved" by just swapping the leads into another port. It's almost two years old now and the problem arose after it was around a year old. No other problems though.
