This is what happens when you run into a FedEx truck

I pulled out of a parking lot making a left turn and lost traction and slid back into the oncoming lane on a small street. Clipped the back of a FedEx truck causing minimal damage to the truck, but a bit more damage to the mustang... :hs

Hood, fender, grill, bumper, valance and headlight are history. Inner Fender is a bit bent, but not too bad. Radiator support is bent up...I hope they can fix it without replacing it. Fortunately, nothing functional was damaged. The wheel did not get involved.

Just before, I was in the parking lot talking to a guy with a nicely restored '67 Camaro complementing him on his paint and I mentioned how I need to get my car repainted one of these days. Well...it's going to be sooner rather than later :shrug

My tires, Falken Azenis, are 6+ years old with less than 10K miles. I've been thinking that they were getting hard and traction wasn't as good as it used to be. I'll be getting new tires too...Geez :hs

Very Bummed for a few days, but now I laugh about it and am grateful that the damage is limited to the body and no one got hurt.

Insurance deductible is $250 so that's good.

Where should I get new sheet metal and bumper?

Dangit. Sorry to hear that Tracy. At least you get a chance to do some upgrades while you're at it!

You weren't by chance showing off that little 331 to the Camaro dude when you lost traction...were you? :roll

Really sorry about the damage. Yours is one of my favorites around here. Will you stick with the same hood style when you get it repaired?

And that Beee-lows. Sorry to hear it! Good luck with the repairs though!

What a shame, but it could have been worse. You probably need new driver seat upholstery too.

Probably, but I had a vision for color scheme...white with black GT stripes on the side and black hood akin to 60s trans am cars...Whatcha think?

That sure sucks! Try some Nitto NT05's or Hankook Ventus RS3's, they both have fairly sticky rubber and are streetable.

I feel your pain man. :wor :wor
Now you have a reason to do whatsoever on your car . :yah :yah

Sorry . :steer :steer :steer :steer :steer :steer

Sorry to hear this. I did something similar back in 2009 and now my stang is in much better shape. Old tires are a hazard.

Tracy,

That sucks! I understand your pain though, your hit was almost the same as mine but I think mine got it a bit worse. My body guy was able to reair the inner fender and the core support and they look like new. So I'm sure yours can be fixed as well as they don't apear to have sustained as much damage as mine did. As for the sheet metal, why not try to find a good used fender and hood? I found a pristine example not 20 min from my house here in MI. I'm sure out there in sunny CA you should be able to find some nice metal. The repops can be good but they are not as good as OEM.

I think your paint scheme idea sounds intersting but your car sure looks nice in black! Good luck

I think I need a psychiatrist's chair

Maybe, but the lawn chair seat is still one of the best pics ever!
