Thought I'd ask the group what you all would recommend to do in Maui.

SWMBO and I are headed there next Feb for our wedding anniversary.... Probably going to rent a house for a week in Haiku area.

The wife and I just got back from over a week in Oahu. We spent a lot of time in the water diving. There are some excellent dive spots around the islands. Saw some cool fish including white and black tip reef sharks and about a 3' barracuda!! If you're not certified, most of the dive shops do introductory dives that will take ya down around 40'.

Since you insist on taking the wife any ideas I had are probably not what you are looking for.

Mama's fish house is the best restaurant I have ever been to. Take money . The view is amazing. Google it And make a reservation now. Drive the road to Hana. amazing drive.

Road to Hana is a good drive with lots of stops for scenery and waterfalls. We took a day trip on a catamaran to Lanai which was great. Snorkeling in the Molokini crater was nice, as well as the sea turtles in Turtle Town. I thought the Luau was overrated, but the pork they cook in the ground is excellent. Rent a convertible too.

Steve: Print out this list of cheap eats in Maui. http://travel.latimes.com/articles/la-tr-mauia6apr06

Sharon and I used this list a few years ago and have been back to some of these places several times. :thu

Another interesting trip is around the road on the north side of the island (Starts near Kapalua and winds over to Kahului). Look for the blowhole!

Thanks Kev for the tip on Mama's - booked a dinner reservation already!

Ryan, thanks for the tips - I am going to look into a day trip to Lanai!

Bill, Thanks for the info and link. We will definitely check some of these places out!

oh, and Thanks, Craig, but I don't do Waui..... At least that kind!
