Has anybody spoken with Rick Schmidt?
Hell, maybe he'd buy VMF from VS and fire the $hi+ out of them immediately.
I did a quick AI search on this, and to my knowledge, and AI's, no one has been able to buy a forum from VS once they acquire it. AI was quoting something like 5-6x annual revenue for a hypothetical purchase price. If I had to guess.... VMF would be deep 6 figures, maybe 7. The forum could be 100% dead, and as a static site the ad revenue would still be making tons of money. They are not letting it go :(

I believe that VS is planting the Bots themselves to spur engagement. There are post which are clearly click bait like the guy who said he was quoted 25k to install front disc breaks and vintage air AC. This is classic click bait strategy. Say something ludacrous and wait for everyone to chime in how crazy it is. The the guy/bot I called out even admitted to using AI to respond. Now we know the strategy. Run everyone off who can see through this BS and let the rest engage with bots. I can believe how many people were answering the thread like it was legit.

For the last year or so I found myself questioning some of the thread topics. I initially thought we had hit a new low in technical and critical thinking ability, but it just felt far too much like engagement farming rage bait. If VS is encouraging that, they can F *all* the way off.

I have long questioned why so many people from certain third world countries who have never even heard of a Mustang would want to join the VMF. I have long suspected there was some miniscule amount financial gain for them doing so somehow. Circumstantial evidence piled on when VS went ballistic upon finding that I was banning all Indian. Pakistani, and Vietnamese addresses out of hand. They also got after Stapler for simply banning such people. I was told an upper admin had to go and unban the hundreds of addresses I banned. Borked up their "new and active" member statistics they use to rook advertisers apparently

The "self-licking ice cream cone" theory. Seems like a great business model, and perpetual at that. Actual members are just in the way, and any advertisers who do diligence on the site probably won't know one way or the other without US shedding light on it.

Thanks for the inside info GypsyR. I now think it has gone beyond that and they are creating fake accounts themselves. It would make more sense why they would want to run us off or delete our posts about this if what I think is true. If i was an unscrupulous person trying to up my engagement numbers this is what I would do. Its so easy. The world has become so dishonest and things like this are now accepted by the younger generations. As long as its in the name of making money, they seem to think its ok. Its the same reason major companies have "Marketing Departments" and "Sales Strategies". In the old days you created a good product and sold it to people who were in need of the product. Now you have "marketing" and "sales" teams who all train to try to trick people and sell a bunch of crappy stuff to people who dont need it. Instead of crooks, they give themselves "marketing" and "sales" titles to make it sound legit. They are still crooks.

I read thru all these post last night & Man guys i was oblivius to all that was going on . Guess i should have know something was up when i read Gypsy had been banned . I had seen him do his thing when a post would get sideways some . And the old members only had good things to say about him . It's easy to not really pay attention when a lot is going on in your life .
For me VMF was a good place to go . Check out people's builds & maybe make friends of a like mind set about cars & to my suprise about a lot of other stuff .
It was fun there , hope it's just as good here and i think it will be .
There are a lot of people out there who don't know jack squat about cars let alone Mustangs & they need a place like i hope this will be. Lot of knowlegeable people here with real world experience about these cars .
Thank's for the heads up so i did'nt set there wondering wth .

I blame Edward Bernays. Maybe all this would have happened without him, but he started it. If you don't know who that is, he's the guy who got doctors promoting cigarettes, and everyone thinking bacon was part of a healthy nutritious breakfast:rolleyes: Tasty yes, healthy?

And you guys did a heck of a good job keeping the scumbag scammers out . Most of my parts buys were from longtime members who were all great . I was scammed one time , but that was on me . It's easy to get into that "man i really need that part ". Me i hope its still like that here ,i hate those people with a passion

I didn't see that list before reaching out to LaPorta in a PM as we had one going already so it should go under the radar. I spaced out stangfix.com so it wouldn't trigger or change to VMF in the PM.
