Look what I found waiting for me at my parents' house:

Over the weekend at Knotts, Bill and I were discussing my car running a little hot in traffic and my lack of a fan shroud. He mentioned that he had a spare at home.

Should be an easy, quick install.

Thanks, Bill. :thu

You mean a shorter one? I installed the shroud and the fan sticks a little more than halfway inside the shroud. Does it need to be further out?

I had to remove a little plastic from the area under the upper hose, the area that's already clearanced for the hose.

I put my hand in front of the radiator while the car was running and felt a good amount of air being sucked through. I wish I had done that test before installing the shroud as well.

Looks to me like the fan blades are almost all the way in in shroud. I didn't realize you have a clutch fan set up. Thus the stem or snout of the clutch would need to be a tad shorter. But then again, try what you current have it set at. Maybe it will work just fine.

Oh and BTW Frank, at least replace that old hose clamp on the radiator snout to match the other ones :soapboxrant I have a bunch of that particular brand. Note to self, put a couple in the Mustang for the next time you see Frank.

The angle of the picture makes the fan look like it's further into the shroud than it is.

Why, yes it is a clutch fan, but I don't see how you figured that out. :confu
