subframe connectors

Is it best to weld the subframe connectors in with the car sitting on it's own suspension? I have my car on jackstands and would like to get them welded in now. I guess I could just have them sitting there mocked up till it's on it's own suspension.

I've seen and heard of it done both ways. My personal opinion is that as long as the car is sitting level it's fine. What you are trying to avoid is welding any "twist" into the car. The suspension is exerting it's force up against the unibody so how would having the body sitting on jack stands be any different(provided you had it balanced on stands near the four corners)?

If I would do this , I would put the car on jackstands and leveled it out on its four corners.
Then I would weld the subframe connector.

But you have to be sure no frame rails are bent , even slightly.
just my opinion.

I took my vert to the local muffler shop and had them weld them on while the car was on their four point rack with the tires on the ramps. That's sitting on its own suspension.
