someone scored.....

Does seem like a decent deal. There is one picture near the bottom of the front frame rail, it sure looks like its been hit pretty hard and repaired

"AC works, but doesn't blow cold. AC compressor is removed and in trunk"

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and state that the reason it doesn't blow cold is that the compressor is removed and in the trunk.

I dunno. The motor is likely shot..... there's a "knock" preventing them from driving it. It has a history of running hot. It's overbored 0.060". The rust in those quarters is a lot worse than it looks. Notice the bubbled quarter panel area in front of the passenger side rear tire. Notice the photos of the rust through areas.... there's bondo on there.

The front seats need re-upholstering. There's likely more minor interior wear and tear.

It doesn't sound to me like the seller is much of a car guy. Meaning he wasn't out there taking care of the little things that would have popped up.

It probably sold right at it's value, maybe a little more.

I'm with pimp daddy Dave on this one. That friggin' frame is tattooed on that car. See the wrinkled up shock tower and brace. I'll bet you a nickel that left front fender has some serious slots in it.

It's a fixer though.

yeah you guys are right....a fair deal, but not a great deal.....060 is as far as you can take that motor, am i right??even 60 over can be too much?? I heard the car will overheat due to thin walls??

"0.060 is the bore limit on a 289. I haven't seen aftermarket pistons any larger.

Some feel that "0.030-0.040 should be the real limit, but others operate with a 60 overbore without issue.

The "knock" is likely a rod bearing. This in itself would not render the block useless. It's possible the crank would just need to be turned and the some of the rods re-sized.

I tend to shy away from cars that have been a daily driver in a place like Colorado where it snows a lot.

He mentions the rust in the rear fender / quarters but I'd want to see it in person before spending money on it. I think there is more rust in there then he realizes or lets on hiding in there.

Rust is like a cockroach...it can hide pretty well, especially in pictures.

Gotta love the snow tires and pictures of the car in the snow... Not how I want to buy a classic.
