Some REAL road course racing. OKC/StangFix style...! (pics)

Hell Bent for Speed
Pay attention Mark and take notes... see how us real racers do it.

Spent the weekend hanging out with Sluggo and Rick down in Oklahoma City, OK. Bonnie and I left early Saturday morning (late none the less...) and headed south to the red land of Oklahoma to meet the infamous Texas duo: Sluggo and Fast68Back. Took about 5 hours with pee breaks (for her - not me).

We met up at the hotel around 2 or so (I think it was). Rick was gracious enough to make a couple of T-shirts for him and I to wear for the occasion too.

We checked into our rooms and Rick & I adorned our new shirts and headed back off to find Sluggo and his better half to head to Pole Position Go-Karts.

Sluggo liked da shirts.

This was the track at Pole Position:

Then the racing started. These were electric carts, but they still got up and ran. Top speed was 45mph.

From L to R: Me, Sluggo & Rick

After the festivities we cleaned up and went to one of the local Brew houses, it was either PJ's or BJ's Brew house... not sure which.

They jacked up Sluggo's pizza but he was a trooper and ate the veggies anyway. The beer was pretty good too - not bad for a "chain" type microbrew.

The question is......did you ever pass a PT Cruiser....

Looks like a bunch of fun for sure.

Was that a GO track??

I'm sure it was a blast, I love kart tracks...just don't have any good ones close by. I use to go the the Malibu Grand Prix when it was in Lenexa years ago.

My favorite part was when Rick got sideways in front of me and I t-boned him :dumas

It was a good time. We're going to have to do it again.

Sorry but that's just TOO much information. :yikes :gobp

It did look like a good time. And why weren't yu wearing those shirts???? :naug

Ahhh, the good ole days of go karts....

We used to be regulars at the track in South Daytona, the one eyed manager would let us race as hard as we wanted if we brought him a case of brew. Took my little brother there one night and there was one particular douchebag that thought it was fun to spin out my little bro. He wouldn't get near the rest of us, just Dougy. We ganged up on him and punted him off the track....he didn't want to play anymore after that. Went crying to the manager and he told him to leave and not come back.

Those were fun times :nice

We raced three 10 lap races.... I wont post any results, in case Jeremy or Randy want to change the results any.....
