Amazing how things start to come together quickly, eventhough there's still plenty to do! I took my husband around the block here in our neighborhood and it did ok~! First I told him to come look for me if I'm not back in 30 minutes, then he decided to go with me! Doesn't run very well cold but ok when warmed up! The exhaust sounds very nice, not loud by any means as I didn't want loud exhaust! I still have the stripes to paint over the bumpers, but that will be easy, actually looks kind of neat the way it is, but still have to put the stripes! I need to get under the car to do some things, therefore I'm ready to order that Maxjax for my garage! :thu That will make my life much easier!

Looks great - my first car was a 67 coupe and I've always liked them...

Do yourself a favor and get a real air cleaner - I ran that same unit on my 67 coupe back in '76. I wonder who came up with the idea of using flammable foam directly on top of a carburetor? One good backfire will ruin your day... like it did for me when I broke a valve spring and had an engine fire. If you have hood clearance problems, there are drop base cleaners that will give you about as much clearance as that unit.

Good luck,
-Rory

Dang, last time I seen a progress pic on your car was when you were working on the roof right??? Looks great.

Looks great!

Maybe I missed this in a topic earlier, but did you buy those hood hinges with the shocks or is that something you made?

How SWEET it is!!

Sorry it took so long to respond to the wonderful feedback! nothing like thumbsup's from fellow stangfixers!! I babysat yesterday and my 3 y/o doesn't let me sit down at the computer for a second! She spent the night and just would not go to sleep and kept me up most of the night! I'm worn out! lol gee I love that kid!

First off~ thanks Kat! I'm going to have to go shopping to get a cute outfit to wear when I get driving this awesome looking mustang!! I was thinking about looking for something '60ish?

Yes Garner!! it wasn't long ago that it was on jackstands in primer! All of a sudden, I'm able to drive it after a lot of hard work! I think only my friends here can appreciate the hard work that goes on it putting something like this together! After going to the recent Autorama here in Houston I feel inadequate as a restorer/restomodder! OMG, the meticulousness of those cars!!! :wor

And Bill(67fastback), yes, it wasn't that long ago I was tackling that rusty roof AGAIN for the second time! OMG! If the roof can just hold out for a few years! :wor Darn that was a lot of work!

Rory, I do plan to get another air cleaner very soon! I was actually looking at a cold air induction system, but I've got so much stuff under my hood, I wouldn't know where to induct from! I actually don't like the air cleaner I have(if it's even classified as an air cleaner!), it doesn't muffle the noise coming into the carb at all!

Classic Doug~ the hood hinges are just repops from Laurel mountain mustang, then I purchased the hydraulic hood lift system from 'somewhere'. I'm somewhat pleased with this system!

oh and John(janschutz), yes, my front valance is a fiberglass valance from Laurel mountain, it fit very well and I'm very pleased with it!!

Gary will be out of town for a couple days starting tomorrow, so I can probably get a little more done while he's gone! The weather should be ok, so I can put the stripes on the bumpers! Piece of cake! I do need to get to the dept of transportation soon and get the tags! but insurance first! I have some license plates from a '67 year that look pretty good, but my daughter was suggesting that I get a personalized license plate, but I'm not very creative coming up with a neat thing to put on it! So these plates will have to do! I'll be back!!

I think everyone here would agree that you should go with a short little dress and go-go boots :thu

Gee Kat!! I have to allow all the bruises to go way after getting banged up from working on my stang, not to mentions the scratches too! That is one cute outfit, the one on the left for sure! Not to mention the girl wearing it does justice to the dress! Darn what a cute figure! This is kind of along the lines of Austin Powers era!
