Sitting here watching tree frogs eat bugs and moths.

Wow, do I live on the edge of excitement or what!!! There is a leaded window above the computer desk that attracts moths on the outside while the light is on, there are a couple of suction footed tree frogs that show up every night and wait for the dumb ones to get close then sssslurp, out comes the tongue and another moth is gone! And for later excitement, watching as ice cubes melt in the warm summer breeze. But WAIT! The thrills have just begun, tomorrow- fresh paint! You all know what THAT means is in store!!! LOL

In all honesty, frogs (or mainly toads around here), are pretty cool to watch as they slurp down a bug. Carolina Anoles (lizards that people commonly, and mistakenly, call chameleons around here), are REALLY cool to watch chowing down!
 
Well... a certain "honored" member of our little group here had a lengthy encounter with said creature.... took him a while, but he finally defeated the culprit! :yah
 
Hey Rod,

I grew up near you (Springbay area) and I NEVER saw a single tree frog in my 18 years down there. I didn't know they were even around. Pretty cool if you ask me.

I remember it being uncommon to see them as a kid but they are everywhere around here now--they make a distinct sound at night. They eat a bunch of bugs!
 
OK...here goes my tree frog story. Several years ago, I heard a chirp in the detached garage that sounded like a tree frog. It would only "croak" occasionally, and very intermittently. Well, at the time, several critters had entered the garage and eventually died (lizards, spiders, etc.). Somehow, a tree frog had entered and because of the garage acoustics, I couldn't quite place where it was coming from. I put out a big bowl of antifreeze (tee hee!), but no luck...the chirping/croaking continued. I finally traced it to the small utility room with the refrigerator, so I pulled the refrigerator outside for a few hours, hoping that the critter would finally leave its hiding place inside the reefer. No luck. After several days of this, I finally told the wife about my problems, and she helped me isolate the critter by sound. We went into the utility room, and she found the critter real quick: it was up on the ceiling! Damn!

It was the fire alarm chirping that the battery was low on voltage....
 
I forgot the refrigerator part!!! What was so funny is, this took place over an extended period of time... Gotta give props to Mid1 on coming clean on VMF. I might have kept that one to myself :char
