As some of you may have recently read on the bathroom wall at your local Carl’s Jr, I had been contemplating seeking a new home for the ’68. Now it’s done.
Why? The car is too perfect for my newer crunchier taste buds. Always worried about being scratched, etc. It’s also finished and I’ve gotten bored. Time for something else to work on and enjoy. Something different, maybe European.
The fastback’s new owner is a guy whom I’ve known for quite awhile who has a small collection of beautiful muscle cars including a ’67 GT350 Shelby which are kept at a show room not too far from me. My working next door neighbor who services the new owner’s fleet, was the one who brought us together since he’s known of my desire to move on. Initially I wanted the car “out of sight, out of mind” but recently I’ve changed my thoughts on that issue for I am very proud of the work we did to the car bringing it,

I will seriously have no problem seeing someone else drive the car. It’s his car now, time to move on. In fact I expect to periodically see it next door being tinkered with as needed.
I must give thanks to my local StangFix member friends JeffTepper, KBMWRS, GTSCODE, crustycurmudgeon and so many others for all the help supplied during the car’s restoration. Could not have done it without you guys.
We still have the ‘65 at home with no plans to sell it unless the daughter changes her mind but she seems pretty firm about “never”. For me mentally, it will be nice to just have one Mustang in the family. The ’65 is a fun car to drive. More comfortable of a ride than the ’68 and it’s stereo is better (most important).
One ’65 Mustang
One ’50 Chevy truck
And soon, one ’87, ’88 or ’89 VW Camper
Cheers
Craig
