Replacing rear oil seals??!!

[bgcolor=#e10000]Does anyone have a suggestion for a tool to replace the axle seals??[/bgcolor][/b][/b] I tried a pipe but ruined the seal.
I can see you must have something the same diameter as the seal but still strike it in the middle?? Ask me how I knowjavascript:void(0);?!

I easily found a piece of galvanized pipe at my local hardware store that was just a tad smaller in diameter than the seal and light tapped the seal in place.
 
I have used a large socket, with an extension installed from the working side, and tapped the seal in. Main thing is to go slow and even as I have even used smaller punches and such to install them.

+1, I also used a large socket. I used my rubber dead-blow mallet to tap the seal into the housing.
 
Slow and easy is the best way. I use a socket, about 1-1/4" I think. If you try and seat with within a few its something is bound to go wrong.

LOL I use a seal driver. I live by the old rule ... right tool for the right job.
