well, mainly motorcycle racing, but a few car shots too...

i'm currently going thru a big box of pictures that belong to my great uncle george. after returning from the war, he raced anything with wheels in the postwar years, mainly bikes. here are a few of the pics, anything with the number 66 is him. lots of early daytona beach pics when they were actually racing on the beach..

thanks! i'm about 1/4 the way thru the pics & have scanned/downloaded about 50 so far. i haven't even got into the fishing pics yet. after he was too old to race, he turned to boats/fishing. he was one of the pioneers of sailfish fishing in the 60's. "marlin" magazine did a nice article on him in feb. 2009 issue.

Very cool pictures. I would love to own the bike in picture 4.

or the 3 chiefs in the bottom pic... lots of money sitting there by todays prices. so far, probably the neatest bike i've seen is a norton racer.

My brother has a 46 chief that is nearing the end of a 5 year resto.
It should fire up around mid June.
Here is the engine with its freshly cast heads and full rebuild.
He also has a 25 Scout and an 18 board racer

here's a couple more neat pics. first is a wartime pic when he was in the USMC holding a thompson standing next to a WLA harley. (weird thing is it has skirted civvy fenders)

Nice Black Marlin, looks like they were caught near Peru. The Tuna is a whopper also, make a lotta cans of Starkist. Oh, got to give the Thompson a thumbs up and a big drool. The photo with Doolittle in it I kept coming back to thinking I've seen that man before, then dummy me, I read the caption. :hs Looks like your Uncle lived life wide open, remarkable man.

Those were great.

Wouldn't mind having one of those bike pics framed. :thu :thu :thu
