pilot bearing removal trick

That looks a lot less messy than using grease. I'll have to remember that for the next time I need to remove the pilot bearing.

At least with the 302's, the early toploader trannies uses a bushing, where the t-5 and tko's use a bearing.

So, in short the answer is D) All of the above.

I picked up a roller bearing from jegs tapped it into the crank but after measuring it was sitting too far forward for the input shaft, I'll pick up the bronze bushing

I don't know how much it matters, but most "bronze" bushings nowadays are actually mostly iron (I verified with a magnet) and I've read horror stories about iron "bronze" bushings. Again, I don't know if it actually matters, but I decided to use a bearing instead (Ford Racing).

There's better uses for grape jelly, besides the viscosity is way off.

turns out that jegs gave me a 302 roller pilot bearing, and with my luck the stroker crank has the ability to accept either the BB or SB input shaft, without knowing the difference I tapped the bearing into the crank, good thing I was questioning it and put the Bell H on and measured before I dropped the motor in.

I'm picking up a roller bearing this aft. for the larger diameter spot in the crank :roll

they say that the material from today's clutch disks really eat up the bronze bushings

I tried the 3 jaw slide hammer puller and it only tore up the bushing. I used the grease trick (similar to the bread trick) and it popped out.

Another trick is to soak paper in water and stuff the pieces into the pilot bushing similar to bread, but less crumbs.
