Last weekend my dad and I went to the cruise in and car show in Somerset. They have a car show from 2pm to 8pm then cruise the main drag which is 3 lanes wide each way. 1200 cars total, over 200 Stang there!

I only can say LUCKY YOU !!!!! :toot :toot :toot

I can only dream of a cruisin night over here.

To do so i first have to inspect my car by the authorities to get a regular license plate. And they aren't easy.
Second it is quite far to drive to a cruisin night.
but Third and most important : for one gallon of fuel i will pay around 5 us dollars .

Thats too cool to cruise with your dad. I wish mine lived closer to me.

$5 for a gallon, DAMN. I think I'd be building an I6 engine...

Enjoy the time at those events with your dad. My Dad and I went to all the shows we could before he passed.....sure do miss that. He always had a good story about "the old days" and the hotrod stuff he and his brothers did on the farm in Ks.

I fixed the Elenor picture. Your camera obviously has GO envy.

It also looks like it has a red shift for some reason. Fixed that too.

gonna have to get that camera fixed!

Yeah, I sure do love hanging out with my dad. My mom passed away about 11 years ago. I've alway been close (even if not geographically) with my dad. He lives about two hours drive away and we see him about once a month. We even get him over to our place once in a while. He taught me a lot about cars and life. He will be 68 in Sept and so far his health is good. Starting to loose his vision though so cruising time may get less and less.

I'd drive my Stang even at $5 per gallon, although not as much!

The cruisein in Somerset is reallt cool, this year the Hot Rod Power Tour went thru there in July. Each month there is 1000+ cars cruising the strip!

Love that last pic. My folks used to ride Gold Wings with us. Those "on the road" pics were always my favorite.

That OTR pic is a classic Craig!

And I know the feeling of going to the shows with your Dad. I've 3 under the belt now, with my Dad, where we both took our cars.

Sound like a lot of fun.

My dad took me to car shows all the country for work but we never had a car to take to the shows.
When I finally got my 70 I got to take him to a couple of local shows before he passed away in 2006.

This past weekend was the first time my son and I took the car to a show and I had more fun at this one than all the others combined.

From Sluggo's post:

I was VERY schocked when we won the Mustang class, there were two very nice early Shelbys, including the Hertz above. It was the first show that my son came to with me, he really liked it. I think he would have sat in the car the whole time, just so people would know it was HIS car. He asked about a dozen times if he could go put something in the car, or get something out of the glovebox. He wouldnt go up by himself to get the award or I would have grabbed a picture. He did take the award and held it all the way home. When we got home he wanted to hang it up along with the other awards that have been sitting on the kitchen table for the last month... Then he sent text messages to his friends.... I think I had as much fun watching him as I did showing the car.
