Well I got the engine home last night. Everything looks pretty good. he gave me quite a truck load of parts.
This is what I got for my money($750). I don't even know where to begin.
it's an 88 5.0 HO with AOD tranny. Trick flow upper and lower intake.

Very nice! That intake alone sells for about $325 on corral.net.
with all the extra parts he gave me I figure I can get back about half of what I spent on the engine.

Nice score! What brand are the headers?

Ford racing headers. They are going in th sell pile too. From what i am told the fox body headers don't work for the older cars.

Those are what I'm using on my '66 and no they won't fit unless you remove your shock towers and install R&P steering.

Have you decided if you're going to run with the EFI or not?

I am going to run the EFI and the overdrive tranny. I do a lot of highway driving with the car.
The plan is to start gathering parts, and knowledge, over the summer. I don't want to take the car off the road this summer.
Then hopefully I can pull the motor this winter and see if I can get it done before next spring.

Awesome score. You are going to have to start a build thread now. :10

That may be one slow moving thread. Who knows when I will ever get the time to get it done.

All the better. With a little one around, i could not even imagine converting to EFI in just one winter.

The winters are pretty long up here. 7-8 months to work on it. I am sure I won't get it done though.

The little one is the challenge though. I'll get her a creeper. :lol
