Picked up the new project!

Well, passed on that 64 1/2 and bought this 65 for the wife. $2800 and $150 in gas to pick it up. Body is very solid. Paint is a beautiful color. A good paint job. Not a perfect showcar paint job, but the car will be a driver and I live on a dirt road. Will likely end up with red interior, since my car is red with a black interior, SWMBO wants a black car with red interior. Originally a 6cyl car. Has a 289 in it and came with an extra 302-c4.

I need a driveshaft for it. Anyone have any ideas?

Anyway, here's the pics I have for now. Will work on it through the winter and have it running for her by Spring.

And one of the "pre 1965 fleet" since my F150 and my wife's Edge aren't photographed.

Very nice score. Let me look tomorrow but I *think* I have a driveshaft to fit. It may be a 6 cyl driveshaft, not sure. It appears to have the 4 lug front and can't tell of the rear. I know I've got an extra 8" complete drum to drum if you need it. I've also got a couple old 2 brl carbs, complete 302 heads (worked), 2 brl intake and who knows what else. I'd love to unload some of it.

Let me know if you have a driveshaft. That's my main concern at this point. I'm going to rebuild the engine this winter, though I might be interested in some of your stuff.

I'll check tomorrow. The more I think about it the more I'm leaning toward it being a driveshaft for a 6. What rear is in the car?

Waffles, I come up to Monroe all the time to my son's home. I have a driveshaft out of my coupe. It is a v8 shaft that came with the car when it had a 3 speed. I put a t-5 in and bought a new shaft. Its yours for the taking. Let me know and I will bring it up on my next visit.

Dunn o if it's gone yet or not (and I hate to keep bringing up this website!), but Jeff Ford was giving away a driveshaft. He lists the details at the end of his current video. The cost would be shipping if you're fortunate enough to get it. You can check it out here:

Wow - paint looks really nice. I bought my 70 Mach the same way. Having a helluva time protecting it while I am working on it

Yes, that is a very nice steal. Not sure out there but a custom cut drive shaft is pretty cheap out here. But yes a freebie from a fellow SFer is a sweeter deal.

I'll take it! I'm located in Brighton, but let me know the next time you're heading up here and I'll make sure to meet up with you! Thanks! I'll pm you my phone number.

Wow, what a nice stang! and I love your barn, workshop!!! ; )

Thanks! Would be nicer if I wasn't storing all my old man's stuff in it. They had to move, and their new house has no garage yet, so I have no room in my barn. But it has a nice tall ceiling, so I'm going to be putting a hoist in it soon.
