Here are a couple of pics of the '56 cheby p'up/66 stang together. The paint difference is more readily visible here. The cheby is a burnt orange custom mixed. The 66 is a royal ruby red with pearls/metallic flakes. Body shop painted the '56 and I painted the 66 myself.

Nice, funny thing is that I also have a '66 coupe and a '56 Chevy short step. I wanted a '57 but, when I saw the '56 in the paper, I figured I could just put a '57 grille and hood on it. When I went to see it, it already had the '57 grille and hood! At that point, I had to buy it. Its waiting in line behind my Mustang to be built.

Thanks everyone, someone had mentioned the color difference to be seen in the 2. :shy

That is pretty wild having another member with the 66/56 combo. Some info on the '56 for you. We went with the new gauge cluster from Brother's trucks in calif. Also went with a tilt column out of a van and used an ezwiring harness that made everything easy to hookup. Also went with a dual mc (it's under the drivers side of the cab and was well worth it. Also, it has a 70's camaro front clip welded in to get rid of the old suspension and now we have the disc brakes/power steering and it's fabulous. Some people choose to go with an s10 frame instead and that seems to work pretty good with some frame mounts fabbed up (from what I hear anyway). A great forum for the cheby trucks and other cheby cars(I know,I know, just trying to help out a fellow stanger...lol)
