Painting Fold-down seat trim

Anyone ever seen Fold-down seat trim painted to match the fiberglass panels? Or, maybe your thoughts on how it would look...

Yep. As a matter of fact I have an orginal set of fold-down seat trim that was painted from the factory (medium blue) to match the interior. I can't judge how it would look as all of the cars I see have the chrome trim, but I'm guessing it would look okay.

It will look just fine. My suggestion is keep the color within reason if you know what I mean.

If you mean match the interior color, that's the plan; black.

Is that a mat under your car? If so, what type?

Those of you with painted trim, ie, Dave and Rich, is it all three panels that have that painted trim or just the middle panel? The middle panel on the 67-70 without the fold down seat (which is the same panel as with the fold down seat) came from the factory with painted vice chrome trim. If you were to strip the paint off you'd find bare steel vice chromed steel. I've only seen that on panels that came from a stationary seat car, and only the middle panel.

The mat is from Costco. Ordered it off their website... not available over the counter I think at any of their outlets... so it was delivered to me. It's something like 7' 6" x 20' and is ribbed. I put the ribbed side face down... easier on my back when I'm crawling around when I have it up on stands. Good moisture barrier and cleans up well with just soap and water and a tad of bleach. Great moisture barrier too.
