Ohio guys, where do you get gas?

Trying to gather some opinions from guys in Ohio (preferably greater Columbus) about a good welding supply store. I am going to call around for prices, but I would like to hear some of your experiences. Also, anyone know a place that is open evenings or weekends, maybe a smaller mom & pop type place? I don't want to have to use my vacation time just to be able to get a bottle and gas.

Not in OHIO, but I buy mine through either AirGas or Linweld.

I'm not in Ohio either but I get mine from a local auto parts store that also sells welding supplies and rebuild small engines. It's kinda like a mom n pop place

Around here, we have Exxon/Mobil, Gulf, RaceTrac, and Chevron, all on various major intersections...

i've switched all my bottles over from the big companies & get everything from tractor supply now. cheaper, closer & not near as much hassle as the big places.

I can't believe no one has mentioned any Mexican joints in this thread yet. Do you all not eat tacos in Ohio?

Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, you name it! I had not thought of bottling my own shielding gas :confu. Anyone know if methane is a suitable substitute for Argon/CO2? I will head over to buckeyestangs and see what they know and I do have a TSC not far but they are VERY proud of their cylinders. They wanted quite a bit more money for a tank and no one in the store knew what an '80 cubic foot cylinder' was, he only knew how much it was to fill a 'three footer'. But it is open late and on weekends so it looks like my only option :shrug

I`m in NE ohio, I`d say check the phone book for a local distributor.
I`d stick w/ c25 mix if you`re not a veteran welder.
Any place that doesn`t know sq ft cyls you should stay very far away from them.
Where in Oh are you?

John

John, I am on the east side of Columbus. I have had absolutely no luck finding a shop other than the big name guys (airgas, praxair, delille). Tractor Supply Co is the only place that has hours I can work with, but they are only a vendor for Gaspony I believe, and they don't know their butt from their elbow.
:rant :char .... :roll
